Setting up large (12.5 TB) filesystem howto?
Hi, I'm trying to set up an iscsi 12.5 TB storage for some data backup. Doing so, I had some difficulties to find the right tool, maybe it's also a question of the system settings... The server is a 32Bit CentOS 5.3 with the recent updates. Ths iscsi connection can be establised. fdisk and parted fail to create any information on the device or fail completely. using the lvm tools (pvcreate, vgcreate, lvcreate), I could finaly create a logical volume: lvdisplay /dev/VolGroup02/lvol0 --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/VolGroup02/lvol0 VG Name...

ssh-decrypt
...agent will be started and relevant key(s) added. When a script will require access to a password, it will: 1. Retrieve the data from somewhere (outside the scope); 2. Decrypt using the ssh utlity (ssh-decrypt(?)) - using ssh-agent or a file. 3. Provide credentials back to script. Or will create the establised connection to the database. Or (anyway, I think it is outside the scope ;-)). The bit that cannot be done currently is number 2 - OpenSSH doesn't provide ssh-decrypt functionality, but it is relatively easy to change it - I've played with OpenSSH 4.4/4.4p1 and it took me one evening (sor...

2.0.6: smbmount still loses connection after awhile to a NT4 server
...s topic has already been discused, and I remember that the final word was the this issue would be fixed in 2.0.6. I'm running a fresh install of Mandrake 7.0 with kernel 2.2.14-15mdksecure with samba 2.0.6 installed. I can smbmount a share on my NT4 server without problem. the connection is establised and everything works fine: Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State tcp 0 0 box:1031 123.345.67.:netbios-ssn ESTABLISHED I go away for a while. When I come back I get this: tcp 0 0 box:1031 123.345.67.:netbios-ssn...

how can i log everything?
...d any way (can''t add logging into masq and nat file). the real reason is that we find some strange packages, ie. there are many (thousends of) ESTABLISHED direct connections in our firewall''s conntract table. after we examine them we realized that these connections never can be establised according to our wish, but they are there. so we try to find the reason. currently only the last line of the policy (reject all) has logged, but of course it''s not enough since these connections are not rejected. our sysadms look through the rules and can''t find the reason. af...

[Bug 2418] New: sftp-server connection closed upon openssh6.8P1 upgrade
...s 2.0.9 openssl-fips-ecp-2.0.9 openssl-1.0.1o openssh-6.8p1 Below is the procedure we have been doing for couple of years now and did not have an issue until now. Issue I am facing is with sftp-server. After the upgrade of openssh6.8p1 when an sftp client connects to the sftp-server connection is establised and password is prompted, however after entering the password connection is closed with an error message "connection closed". Error in /var/adm/messages file is "Jun 25 15:12:46 servername sshd[3223]: [ID 800047 auth.info] Accepted password for username from ipaddress port 32911 ssh2...

vsnprintf()
I think I stumbled upon a bug in the i_snprintf() function. In the case of vnsprintf() being available, it depends on vnsprintf() returning -1 when the string was longer than the passed-in limit (or it won't terminate the string.). But this isn't the C99-standardized behaviour, and newer glibc's don't do that anymore either, so you can end up with a non-terminated string. This

Asterisk's DANGEROUS Transfer CDR's
...| Te -| End -| Bob | Te | | Bob | Te - T1| To put it another way here are some examples of how Asterisk systems and transfers can be exploited. 1. Place a call to a mobile you plan on having a lengthy call to. As soon as the call is establised blind transfer it to a low or free cost destination. You will only be billed for the mobile call up to the time it takes you to do the transfer the remainder of the call will be billed at the low cost or free destination. 2. With Asterisk 1.4 place a call to two billable destinations and then tran...

Announce: OpenSSH 8.0 released
...these client-side checks at the risk of reintroducing the attack described above. * sshd(8): Remove support for obsolete "host/port" syntax. Slash- separated host/port was added in 2001 as an alternative to host:port syntax for the benefit of IPv6 users. These days there are establised standards for this like [::1]:22 and the slash syntax is easily mistaken for CIDR notation, which OpenSSH supports for some things. Remove the slash notation from ListenAddress and PermitOpen; bz#2335 Changes since OpenSSH 7.9 ========================= This release is focused on new feat...

Bad Echo between SIP calls
Hi, We have a PRI connection & when its was on test networks we had echo problems withoutside line. So I bought a TE212P card resolve the echo problem. Which did to an extent. Its using asterisk 1.2.18 & RHEL4-Update 4. But now when we are live, there is a terrible echo between 2 SIP calls. If I call the same extension from outside the voice is clear. I am not sure whats
