Trusted domain user login
Greetings,
We are currently experiencing logon problems with a trusted domain user(s).
Example: We have DomainA and DomainB
DomainA and DomainB both have workstations joined on their respective
domain.
DomainA and DomainB both have trust relationships. DomainA trusts DomainB
and vise versa.
DomainA is where being served by a Samba PDC, while DomainB has a PDC using

UDP and NAT
...TCP-Only for accomplish
this. This is because Tinc can't reutilize incoming UDP connections to
reply back - has to set up an outgoing udp connection defined in config
(thing that in a NAT-ed environment isn't possible)
I saw in git repository that tinc fallbacks to TCP-Only if it can't
estabilish a double-UDP connection, that is fine. But shouldn't tinc get
the ability to use an inbound tcp connection to answer back the remote
host? (maybe setting incoming ip and leaving port blank or something)

GPO error after activating domain trust
Hello everyone,
this is my first post, so please be kind :)
I've a working Samba AD DC 4.7.6 installed on Ubuntu 18.04
I can join Windows Machine, manage everything with RSAT.
Yesterday I tried to estabilish a Domain Trust between my Samba Domain and a Windows 2008 domain, using "Active Directory Domains and Trusts".
The Win2008 AD is one-way on outgoing trust, and my Samba is one-way on the incoming side, both as "External" trust
After the wizard, everything works as intended, Sam...

our server on a dmz, so that now we have our server with private ip but

trust is not working - I don't have any clue why is it not working - I
didn't find any usefull message in SAMBA logs - I will continue debugging

smbclient failing due to switch MAC addr table timeout
...increased dramatically the
chances a MAC is not in the switch MAC table, this had some side-effects:
- you lose first ping packest (or first 2) when pinging an host whose MAC
addr is not in the switch MAC table
- smbclient will fail to transfer files since it will immediately exit after
failing to estabilish a connection
- other apps (ie: telnet) will somehow wait a bit and manage to make the
connection at the 1st attempt.
So, is there a way to have smbclient wait a bit longer before giving up?
I'd like to avoid having to do pings before calling smbclient or calling
smbclient multiple times.

trigger a program when user login/logoff from NT domain
...connection will be
maintained throughout the user session. The user will never access
\\XXX\yyy since no data stored there.
When user logoff, the share disconnects and another program runs.
In our smb.conf, we have the following lines:
deadtime = 0
keepalive = 0
In this way, an estabilished connection won't be disconnected unless the
user logoff the domain. This is exactly what we want since we only want to
trigger the program at the moment that the user login/logoff.
This setup has been running fine, until we extend it to whole the campus
which contains 26,000 users.

Issue with pam_winbind for MS AD authentication and module options
...came up with this idea is that when the AD server is
down and I try to login with root for eg. over and over many times,
after a while it goes (looks like pam config order is right), but a few
minutes later it won't again, which made me thought that perhaps winbind
or pam_winbind are trying to estabilish a connection with AD and somehow
because of that the whole process slows down so much that even local
login times out.
Samba is configured to catch UID's, GID's from AD using SFU and ad idmap
backend. Only users that are members of a specified AD group are able to
login. The purpose of the...

Samba + e2compr = problems?
...the network until a
certain point, when in some ack the window size of the connection begins
to shrink until it reaches 0! This is a window frozen problem, and
afterwards all sorts of problems happen, until the workstation sends a RST
to the server, which is immediately accomplished leading to the
estabilishment of a new NBT session with the workstation.
The problem is locking-independent, as the trace done with the
sniffer has already shown. Conservative options like "use strict locking"
make no difference.
Someone has a clue about the shrinking of the window size only in

RE: Q: Routing the Same IP simultaneously on differentcomputers ?
...e routing has
taken place, so your private address is altered.
This should do the trick.
If you want to forward EVERYTHING to a host, the linux router cannot use the
internet itself (acts as a stupid broadband router). This means, the routing
works great, but the linux box itself can''t estabilish any connection, since
packets destinated to it is forwarded to a lan host. And this is not what we
want.

Using meetme like call
hi all, I have a little question about meetme in Asterisk.
One of my client ask me that all call can, if is necessary, become
conference for 3-4 user during conversation.
I think that are 2 way for make this:
1- all call (instead if the users are only 2) are conference
2- using n-way call
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+n-way+call+HOWTO)
I decide to implement the first way because

Dovecot does not close connections
Hello,
I am running into this error:
/Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded

The suggested solution in hundreds of support requests on this mailing
list and throughout the internet is to increase the number of maximum
userip connections. But this is not curing the problem, it is just
postponing it to the moment when the new limit is reached.

Betr.: VPN
IF you are not stuck to IPSec, you might want to take a look at OpenVPN (www.openvpn.org). I found OpenVPN easier to install than FreeSWAN (an IPSEC VPN) and have setup an OpenVPN solution between my German office and our mainoffice in a matter of hours.
