What version plays well with Windows 7?
I am currently running version 3.3.2 on an older Fedora machine that works just fine with XP. I am trying to get a Win7 machine to work but keep getting trust relationship errors on the final step in the configuration on the Win machine.
This is the error in the logs:

net drive mapping not working in login script
I've set the path for each user in pdbedit and created a login script with drive mapping etc etc
The network drives aren't being mapped when I login each user:

cups options = raw
map to guest = Bad User
# include = /etc/samba/dhcp.conf

I don't think so.
A novell server does not work with SMB and has his own protocol but I can
be wrong here.

Need help with log creation
For the life of me, I can not figure out why I keep getting 2 logs for
each deamon.
In smb.conf:
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
In smb init script:
CONFIG=/etc/samba/smb.conf
When I use the init script to start samba, it logs to log.*. When
the logs rotate however and they are restarted with
"/bin/kill -HUP `cat /var/run/smbd.pid" etc., it logs as specified in the
config

following in smb.conf:

Yet, when I start the daemons, I get log.%m:

Samba can't find child pid - remove_child_pid
So, after a failed drive and an array rebuild, I finally got samba to
run after some problems with corrupted tdb files. Now I am left with
some errors about which I cannot find much information:

Internal and Panic Errors after raid rebuild
Good morning!
I am at a loss on this one. I had a drive go down and I had to bring
the server down to fix and reinitialize the array, I can't keep samba
running. I have included the log file entries below.
Thinking that maybe something with my samba installation was corrupted,
I went ahead and re-installed the samba rpm's but that has had no
effect.
My searches haven't turned up

OSX causing multiple CLOSE_WAIT's
Lately it never fails when I attach a Mac running OSX 10.5 that I get
runaway pid's. I tracked them down so far to multiple close_wait's:
# /usr/sbin/lsof | grep pbg5mac
smbd 24876 root 6u IPv4 80015755 TCP
yoda.wrenkasky.com:netbios-ssn->pbg5mac.wrenkasky.com:49381 (CLOSE_WAIT)
They can grow to over 100 if I don't catch it or nobody can log on anymore ;-)

Over 400 smbd pid's?
Over the past 2 days, my smbd processes are multiplying worse than
rabbits. At least with rabbits it's easy to tell why you wind up
with so many...
Here's the setup:
Samba version 3.2.8-0.24 installed via rpm on a FC6 box with 2 nics,
both on the same subnet. The samba server acts as a PDC in a mixed
environment but mostly windows pc's running xp. It is used mostly
