Table Relationships and ActiveRecord Associations
First of all, I love Ruby on Rails. I have an intermediate understanding of PHP, JavaScript, DOM and CSS, and that''s the extent of my programming experience. I''m developing an online game''s web presence with another colleague. We''re the only two technical guys on a team of +10 content developers. So, baring all that in mind, here are my questions with a

statistics - hypothesis testing question
...competing simple regression models, A and B where the LHS is the same in both cases but the predictor is different ( I handle the intercept issue based on other postings I have seen ). I estimate the two models on a weekly basis over 24 weeks. So, I end up with 24 RSquaredAs and 24 RsquaredBs, so essentally 2 time series of Rsquareds. This doesn't have to be necessarily thought of as a time series problem but, is there a usual way, given the Rsquared data, to test H0 : Rsquared B = Rsquared A versus H1 : Rsquared B > Rsquared A so that I can map the 24 R squared numbers into 1 statistic. Ma...

Fw: Interconnecting to an Altigen PBX?
Has anyone got Asterisk talking successfully to an Altigen PBX using h323? I can successfully make calls from Asterisk to Altigen, but calls from Altigen to Asterisk get a fast busy. There seems to be a lack of h323 example files (or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places) as well as a severe lack of h323 documentation from Altigen. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

PR#8528
On 23/02/05 I suggested that given R had included TOMS 708 to correct for t= he=20 poor performance of pbeta, TOMS 654 should be included to fix all the pgamm= a=20 problems. I was slightly surprised to find Morten's code had been included= =20 instead 2 days later. I noticed but did not worry that the reference to me = had=20 been removed.=20 The derivation of the asymptotic expansion for

I am using debug on the .install_packages function...stepping through. Once the temporary folder is created and the tar file expanded I run file_test and get a FALSE back indicating that the configure file is not executable. Perhaps a Linux user can reproduce it and fix it. Here's what I see:

Missing dependencies in pkg installs
Not much progress..... I step through debug and it gets to the do.install() function which immediately errors with the same "configuration not executable" error. So, made a tempfunc that was a copy of tools:::.install_packages and edited the file_test("-x","configure") line to return a TRUE now I get a Permission Denied error (even if I run as root) >
