mtrace and debug
Hello, pointed to the article "Debugging Without (Too Many) Tears" of Mark Bravington in Rnews Vol 3/3, December 2003 there is a package mvbutils mentioned. So I started to install this package from within R > install.package(mvbutils) I receive an error essage that this package is not found! Is due to a merge, removal or rename of this package? Digest Only?
Is this list only available in digest form only? I would like to receive individual postings so I can sort them by subject and just look at the ones I'm interested. I've subscribed to many lists, both listerv & majordomo, and I've only ever essage easier?seen one other list that was digest-only. Does *anyone* find scolling through a 40k message easier? -Ron Lavoie Ron Lavoie

re : array searches
Hi, I am not sure to get the issue, but assuming your data are arranged as in your example with dates in column x$V1 and signals as x$V2 , I think that you could use "rle" in the following way : test<-rle(x$V2) testmat<-matrix(NA,length(test$values),2) testmat[,1]<-x[c(1,cumsum(test$length)[1:(length(test$values)-1)]+1),1] testmat[,2]<-test$values And you'll get your

Message waiting indicator
What is required to get the mwi to work? Is it more of a phone subject or *? I have the mailbox= line in sip.conf, but only one extension is named, and in some of the examples, I have seen that there are two... What is that all about and how does it affect the extensions.conf and voicemail.conf? Thanks again..... Just some background as you start seeing my lists, I just started my own business

Problems with SIP Registration on VPN Link
Hi, We are having major problems with a remote site that links to the head office via a VPN tunnel. The phones will register fine and work for a few minutes to hours but then will drop their connection and will no register to asterisk even with a restart of the phone. We have 2 other remote sites that work exactly same and they are not having any issues so i believe it has to be be something

Special Information Tones
I'm having a problem with Verizon Wireless. I would be extremely surprised if I was the only one having this problem. It seems to me that Verizon Wireless might be able to use one of the Special Information Tones to allow us to solve the problem. But I really do not whether my suggestion is compliant with the ITU-T standards. Perhaps someone can give me an expert opinion on whether I

The cell companies are "doing it" like they think makes sense. If they know your cell is off/out of range they route instantly to VM. They could give "4-10 rings" of fake effort, but why. With follow me roaming and such, they want to process the call as fast as possible. If they don't know if the cell is available, they may go through about 4 rings of searching, but

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself. The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

Wishlist: 'quietly' argument for .onAttach() / .First.lib()
Hi R-devels, in "Writing R extensions" as well as in the help to .onAttach(), you mention that one could use this function to issue a start-up message/banner for the package. My little wish for Easter: a 'quietly'-type argument for .onAttach() / .First.lib() which is passed through by functions require() and library() respectively, and by means of which one could optionally

FSCK of corrupted ext3 filesystem
Hello, I have a 1.3TB ext3 filesystem that has been in service for about 3 months. About 6 days ago the Emulex fibrechannel controller logged a SCSI error and the filesystem changed to RO. It appears that the filesystem instantly changes to RO and prevents the journal from working, therefore invalidating the filesystem. The filesystem was unmounted and a remount was attempted. The mount failed
