for loop
Dear list,
in the following loop im generating objects of type table. What I would like to do is to put all those objects together in a list (that i called cc).I did this but the result is not what i espect to get:
cc=list()
d=1
for (i in data) {
cc=list(cc,assign(paste("n",d,sep=""),table(i,subsample$vD31NADD)))
d=d+1}
I know that this won't work properly:
cc=list(cc,assign(paste("n",d,sep=""),table(i,subsample$vD31NADD)))
but I dont know a way to add t...

CentOS 6.4 kickstart bonding
Hi all,
Someone played with kickstart bonding with centos 6.4 ?
CentOS 6.4, as upstream now support ifcae bonding in kickstart network section.
I've an issue with configuring a second bonding iface in kicstart on CentOS 6.4. The first bonding (bond0) works as espected but the second is not configured during installation. I've a 6 nic server (two for "puclic" network, two for cluster network, two for iscsi network)
here is my "network" kickstart section:
# "Public" network, bond0 created, it works fine,
network --device=bon...

various ordering issues in puppet manifests
Hello,
The more complicated my puppet scripts gets, the more ordering issue i meet. Here is a simple thing:
I use a default backup policy for the nodes in my backup classe and then, in the node i try to override the defined
default but even if they are done one after the other i got an error to say that the override is triggered before the
default:

Hi,
thanks for your question.
We have not investigated this matter yet, but we espect to find at least
a basic correspondence between the two. This would be enough for us.
On the Novell documentation we've read that the object rights are
essentially four: Browse, Create, Delete, Inheritance Control, Rename,
and Supervisor.
It shouldn't be difficult to match them to ntfs a...

syslinux: possibly unsafe permissions for /tmp
Hi all. I keep getting the error in the subject line whenever attempting
to put Syslinux onto the floppy. As a result, it refuses to write
ldlinux.sys. I have tried most if not all the viable combinations, and
Syslinux still complains. Anyone know what permissions Syslinux espect on
/tmp? I have not been able to determine this so far. Thanks!

puppetversion and downgrade/upgrade of puppet
...ocal
notice: Ignoring cache
err: Could not retrieve configuration: mauvaise version de puppet
0.22.4, downgrade vers 0.22.4 at /etc/puppet/manifests/site.pp:58
i try to force puppet to downgrade to 0.22.4 if it detect any other
version then stop. It seems detecting the version does not work as
espected from me and even with that i do not find a way to say "after
the upgrade stop or restart".
Any idea ?

minimap and Leaderheads not showing up in Civilization IV
Civilization IV Beyond the Sword expansion.
I'm using Wine 1.1.44 with the latest intel drivers (2.12.0) and mesa at 7.8.2. OS is GNU/Linux, Gentoo distribution
Both the minimap at the lower left corner and leaderheads don't show up, showing just a black section on the screen instead. Also, some artifacts are showing up in forests and jungles.
This is very different from the results

Boot disk order: h/w vs. grub
I'm still having conceptual trouble with this one.
I have two PATA and two SATA disks in my home system. When the system
comes up, these are, espectively, /dev/hda, /dev/hdb, /dev/sda and
/dev/sdb. I have the boot order of the drives in the boot PROM set to
boot from /dev/sda (hard drive 2), then /dev/hda (hd 0), and usually
that works fine. /dev/sda is properly set up with the MBR and /boot
lives there as well.
However, when the system has...

F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility (fwd)

From: "W. Scott Wilburn" <wilburn at lanl.gov>

Subject: F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility
We have Macintoshes running Fsecure SSH client 1.0.1 which are unable to
connect to a server running Openssh 2.1.1 on Red Hat 6.2.
I believe that the problem is a bug with Fsecure, since a 30-day trial
version of 1.0.2 works

Hi,
Is it normal to get intercept in the list of covariates in the output of survreg function with standard error, z, p.value etc? Does it mean that intercept was fitted with the covariates? Does Value column represent coefficients or some thing else?

Problems with multipath routing.
...I want it''s that if GW at route1 of the MP is dead,
traffic goes by route2, for doing that I have created the multipath routes as
follows:
ip route add table mail.traffic proto static nexthop via ${GW1} dev eth1
weight 1 nexthop via ${GW2} dev eth1 weight 250
But it does not run as I espected, I want that most (all if posible) the
traffic goes by GW1, and if it is down (DgD patches are applied) traffic must
goes by GW2, the kernel it''s not taking into account the weight parameter or
maybe I''m doing it wrong.
Any hit will be apreciated ...
Best regards

Rails Masters'' debugging techniques -> Rails Recipes?
Hi,
This msg for Chad Fowler or anyone who fits the subject line.
I bought the Recipes book and really like the way it has been
progressing. There is one subject I''d like to see explored in detail.
Having come from Assembly and C background I find that a ''must have''
tool in your collection is the debugger.
I find debugging a Rails App the most thorny issue inversely
