Winbind issues with AD member file server
...cords 4. I added the following two idmap configuration options to /etc/samba/smb.conf and was then able to retrieve user and group records from AD, but the group members aren't included: idmap config BSOE : unix_nss_info = yes idmap config BSOE : unix_primary_group = yes # getent passwd BSOE\\eshell BSOE\eshell:*:3392:325::/soe/eshell:/bin/bash # getent group "BSOE\\staff-group" BSOE\staff-group:x:552: 5. I've found that querying some groups returns no information, perhaps because of low gidNumber values (BSOE\staff-group has gidNumber 552): # getent group "BSOE\\staff-gro...

AR(2) modelling
Hi useRs, I'm trying to fit a basic AR(2) model with the 'ar' function. And when I try to check the value of the coefficients, I could not find the same value as the 'ar' function. Here is my example: myserie <- c(212, 205, 210, 213, 217, 222, 216, 218, 220, 212, 215, 236) #plot(myserie, type="l") myserieminus0 <- tail(myserie, -2) myserieminus1 <-

Samba 4 AD member server authentication issues, domain vs. ads security
Thanks for the quick replies. One domain is at Windows Server 2008 functional level, and the other is Windows Server 2012 R2. The samba 4 servers are running 4.2.10 and the samba 3 servers are running 3.6.23, both from rpms available from either the CentOS 6 or 7 repos (samba 4 on CentOS 7, samba 3 on CentOS 6). Here's the smb.conf used on the two samba 4 servers: [global] > workgroup

Samba 4 AD member server authentication issues, domain vs. ads security
...cation attempts were failing. Workstations in the domains were still able to authenticate, however, and I verified that the DNS records were still correct. The SRV records were all in place and the domain controllers' host names were resolving. Samba 4 AD member server authentication issues, domain vs. ads security
I have an environment with two separate AD instances which each have both a samba 3 and samba 4 file server joined to them. Last week, we began to experience authentication failures in both domains on the samba 4 file servers. After a lot of experimenting, we found that changing the security setting from domain to ads resolved the problem for the samba 4 servers. However, the samba 3 servers

Samba 4.2, Mac clients not listing contents of some shares
I have a samba 4.2 server with 69 shares, most of which function without issue. It is integrated with Microsoft AD for authentication and we have a samba 3.6 server that is more or less working perfectly. However, there are a few shares on the 4.2 server that Mac clients (running 10.9, 10.10, or 10.11) cannot navigate either through Finder or from within a terminal. These shares can be mounted

Samba 4, recommended smb.conf options for OS X compatibility
I have some issues with OS X 10.10 and 10.11 clients when pointing the at samba 4 file shares that I haven't been able to address after reading documentation and searching the mailing lists. These Mac clients and my samba server(s) are bound to a Microsoft AD domain. User home directories are set in the user AD profiles. Connecting to a file share directly always works, so upon login users
