use PT_DENY_ATTACH on Mac OS X
...d by the traced
process; it allows a process that is not currently being
traced to deny future traces by its parent. All other
arguments are ignored. If the process is currently being
traced, it will exit with the exit status of ENOTSUP; oth-
erwise, it sets a flag that denies future traces. An
attempt by the parent to trace a process which has set this
flag will result in a segmentation violation in the parent
Any reason not to use it in platform_disable_tracing() ?

...efault scan type for privileged users.
TCP connect() scan: This is the most basic form of TCP scanning.
The connect() system call provided by your operating system is
used to open a connection to every interesting port on the
machine. If the port is listening, connect() will succeed, oth-
erwise the port isn’t reachable.

...ve come from

--backup-dir=DIR
In combination with the --backup option, this tells rsync to
store all backups in the specified directory on the receiving
side. This can be used for incremental backups. You can addi?
tionally specify a backup suffix using the --suffix option (oth?
erwise the files backed up in the specified directory will keep
their original filenames).
the "Specified Directory" and "Receiving Side" is the best it gets at
telling me.
