Re: running TextAloudMP3
Hello
I've succeeded running older version ov TextAloud on
my machine (to some extend). It means that now I can
type my registration code in the application and
continue with running TextAloud. Later at some moment
it ties to use TTS engines and then it shows the
message that TTS engine isn't installed. I've
installed AT&T Natural voices in TextAloud directory
and have instructed

wine, outlook and exchange server
Hi,
I want to use outlook on linux. So I have installed wine and ms office 2000. That work's fine.
But I want to use outlook with microsoft exchange server 5.5 and I will get the error "name is unresolved", if I set the mailbox properties. The network and the exchange server is available.
Has someone the same problem or a solution?
kind regards,
Frank

New user
Hi all, i'm a new user of wine and i have some doubts.
First i'm using wine with gentoo.
I read in the wine web some info about the config file that wine uses, but
in the gentoo ebuild no sample file is installed, or i haven't found it.
Even more it seems that the winecfg application is used to configure wine,
but it seems to not be finished and uses the registry files in ~/.wine to

config file (or lack thereof) question, turning off ttydrv
I am TRYING to use the most recent release of wine.
Am I correct to assume that there is no longer a .wine/config file?
Am I also correct to assume that all documentation still refers to the
.wine/config file, and gives NO F*CKING help about how to use the new
system?
If these two assumptions are correct, it seems to be a real stupid way to do
things. How is a new user EVER supposed to

WebSnake
Hi,
I wanted to mirror an entire site's contents, however I could not find
software to do so. My friend told me about web-snake, which could do the
job for me. However, I could not get it to start under wine. The splash
screen stays on top, which to kill it I need to go to tty2, run top, and
kill it from there.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Printing under wine
Hi,
Bit of a newbie here, I've checked the FAQ, and some srchives, but haven't
found an answer.
I have a Windows DTP application, which runs quite well under wine 9.0
(Mandriva Linux 2005SE), but when tryimg to print, dumps with a stack
backtrace.
So I thought I'd try printing from the wine-supplied notepad; this doesn't
even come up with a printer list. I can't believe

copy installed IE6 and MSWord to another machine
Is there a way to simply copy all the Windows software I installed on
one machine to another machine?
At this time it's just IE6 and MSWord but there may be more Windows
software installed in the future...

control.exe
Does the control.exe wine application still work?
I go to
.wine/drive_c/windows/system32
and run
wine control
And it tells me that it can't load any applets. I know I have used this
before to run the uninstaller. I am using Wine 0.9

Benefits from using original Windows DLLs?
Hello,
I still own MS Windows NT 4 Workstation and Windows95 both on CD.
According to the FAQ Windows can't be installed using Wine, but the
DLLs could be extracted and used with Wine.
Is there much benefit from doing this? I guess the DLLs could be copied
to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system right?
If it makes sense, what is best to used, Win95 or Win NT4? Is this
procedure legally

how do I (now) specify wine "Path"? And where is --debugmsg ?
Two questions if I may. I had previously been using wine 20041019. In
that wine, the .wine dir had a config file where you could specify
[wine]
...
"Path" = "C:\\Windows;C:\\Windows\\System"
Also with that wine, there was an option on the wine command --debugmsg
I've upgraded to wine 20050930 and can't find either of these. My
specific problem was, I

wine .9
Installed Wine .9 (Nice Job!)
Everything compiled nicely, and installed DCOM98.exe fine. Trying to
install IE6 and coming up with an error such as "Cannot complete
download of components, check your internet connection..."
I am connected just fine. Is this a bug? or is there a step I possibly
missed?
Thank you.

How to run Internet Explorer 6 from existing Windows instalation under Fedora 3 (with wine)
Hi all,
Sorry if I ask something that is answered already, but I am new to this
list.
I need to run IE for testing purposes (unfortunately too many people are
still using Windows and I need to make my web pages Windows compatible).
I have an existing Windows installation, but I do not want to reboot
just to see if a small change in a web page is shown correctly in IE.
I have installed wine, but

Do I need to defile my machine, or is there a simple work-around
I am trying to install Microchip's MPLab package (a set of tools for
working with PIC microcontrollers) with the latest Wine from CVS (at
least, latest as of yesterday morning).
I've been running Wine for a while, so I already have an existing Wine
registry. I don't have a Windows install on the machine.
The installer (InstallShield) unpacks, runs, and then pops up a dialog
