CentOS 8.0 1905 is now available for download
...something, like "SCL", "orphaned packages", etc.,
please first search on the net (Google it) with for example "linux
CentOS SCL" and then only ask for further clarifications. No one has
time to explain everything in detail to you, you need to learn the
basics, research enything that interests you and only then ask specific
questions.
Thank you for understanding.

plot-parameter pch without influence when plotting a data-frame
Hello,
I'm plotting a data-frame and use
plot(......., pch=...)
as well as setting pch with
par(pch=...)
but always get the default symbol (circle)
for the plots.
Does pch have no effect, when plotting a complete
data-frame, instead of certain values/vectors?
How to change the behaviour?
Do I have to change the print-function?
TIA,
Oliver

A simple question re. syslinux
...initrd=ramdisk lang= devfs=nomount ramdisk_size=7168 console=ttyS0
(and I would enter 'serial' or "console" to choose at the ldlinux prompt).
Unfortunately it does not quite work - because I can't seem to feed the
input to the
ldlinux prompt from the serial.... When I type enything on VGA console, it
is also
displayed on serial, but I can't enter anything via serial port..... I know
that the serial
port itself is working, because I can use it from Linux that boots using the
"serial" option....
Any ideas on

match a set of numbers in GoToIf against a variable
Hello all,
Okay when you are done laughing at the simplicity of this question could
someone show me please what I have wrong in the following statement?
GoToIf($[${numdial} != [1-9] ]?15:3);
What this is supposed to do is if numdial is not a single digit from 1 to 9
inclusive goto 15, if it is a singledigit from 1 to 9 inclusive goto 3.
Should be pretty simple but not working for me, always

CentOS 8.0 1905 is using Linux Kernel 4.18? Not Linux Kernel 5.x?

plotting GAM
Dear colleagues,
I would like to have GAM regression lines (package gam) thicker than the default
setting does. Is there any way to change the width of regression line when plotting
gam.objects from the package GAM with more than one predictor? Changing lwd
parameter in plot function controls all line components, including points making them
thicker as well, which is not what I would like to
