environments/development.rb instead, and to my surprise this didn''t
work. It said the class in question hadn''t been loaded yet. So I guess
my question is in which order the global environment.rb, the
environtments/$RAILS_ENV.rb and plugins/*/init.rb gets run... Is there
any good way to add env-specific configuration to a plugin? Would kinda
come in handy, actually...

Large scale ZFS deployments out there (>200 disks)
...olaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6761786) is fixed it should be able to handle a lot of disks.
I want to ask the ZFS community and users what large scale deploments are out there. How man disks ? How much capacity ? Single pool or many pools on a server ? How does resilver work in those environtments ? How to you backup ?
What is the experience so far ? Major headakes ?
It would be great if large scale users would share their setups and experiences with ZFS.
Will you ? :)
Thanks,
Robert

samba4 and (pseudo) LDAP backend for users, groups and rights
...our scenario. I already found out that Samba 4 comes with its own LDAP Server and if I want to use a slapd on the same system, it should listen on another port. I know that using a LDAP backend isn't supported in the current version of samba, but I'm looking for a similar solution anyway.
Environtment:
- LDAP-Master-Server with all the information needed
- mostly Windows XP and Windows 7 Clients
They should auto mount network drives after login (user, pass and rights from LDAP-Master)
Here is what I want to achieve:
A LDAP-Master-Server should be the basis for all users, passwords, groups, righ...

Restrict permission changes
Hello,
I've a share with preset permissions on different directories including acls.
So in one folder for example users can only read and into other read and write.
Everything works fine. The Problem is if one user decides to change the
permission of a file or directory (via Windows) the acls and permissions get
are messed up.
How can I restrict users from changing permission on a share? I

Using a lib in YAML fixtures

`load_fixtures''
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-1.13.1/lib/active_record/fixtures.rb:487:in
`setup''
I''ve put require ''runt'' in environtment.rb, the unit test file, and
even in my yaml file doing <% require ''runt'' %>. Not really sure how
I''m supposed to access this lib from the yaml file. I''d really
appreciate any input.
Thanks,

Problem : Samba 3.0.2a as PDC with Win2000 Pro
Hi, all....
Honestly I'm a newbie in Linux. For a couple days,
I've been trying to build my own PDC server.
I've got enough manual resource for guidance, but
somehow, untill now I can't log my Win2000 Profesional
into the PDC server.
I'm using Debian sid kernel 2.6.5, Samba 3.0.2a and a
Win2000 box as client. I think there's nothing wrong
with my smb.conf ( I guess...

Its when syslogd stops/starts. The hardlinks need to be recreated for
some reason.

I need the Com32 binary so I can use it on my project. Or, maybe anyone can make the COM32 library as a single API file so I can easly call it after my .c32 is running?

Input from xen hosting providers?
This is my second mail because the first one turned into a two page novel.
Basically my question is this, what is your opinion on the following,
in regards to having to know about the os and USE in your hosting
environtment. Here is my problem...
We have a sales guy that sold people on the idea of having 4 windows
clients, and 2 "filestore" servers. filestore1 backs up to filestore2
so that if filestore1 fails, they can move over. Okay that is fine
right. But now my boss wants me to be able to keep track an...

Optimisations
Looking through the archives I have seen talk of making CPU specific
optimisations for Vorbis, a la MMX/3DNow!/SSE. The feeling I gather is to
wait until something is working well in C before committing to any kind of
specific optimisation. What if oft used and needed DSP functions were
identified and standardised DSP functionality be written for Vorbis? This
would seperate the basically

iptables 1.3.7, kernel 2.6.19, ROUTE and Layer7 issues
Hi, I''m having problems with this configuration:

[PATCH 00/15] ia64/pv_ops take 5
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/pv_ops support which is the
framework for virtualization support.
Now all the comments so far have been addressed, but only a few exceptions.
On x86 various ways to support virtualization were proposed, and
eventually pv_ops won. So on ia64 the pv_ops strategy is appropriate too.
Later I'll post the patchset which implements xen domU based on
ia64/pv_ops.
