Folder name migration when moving from 2.0.x to 2.1.x?
Today I encountered this after upgrading:

RFC 6154: German umlauts in special_use folder names
Hi,
the Drafts special folder is called "Entw?rfe" in German locale.
How should the special_use entry in the config file look like?
Would you recommended to use the encoded folder name...

Entw?rfe: mailbox does not exist
The problem is with "Entw?rfe" here. It's actually Entw<0xfc>rfe, which
translates to "Entw?rfe" in ISO-8859-1.
Why can't doveadm find that mailbox? Is the old mailserver misbehaving
(I hope not because I have no idea how to change...

samba storing filenames as utf8

unix charset = ISO-8859-15
unix charset = iso8859-15
unix charset = utf8
unix charset = UTF8
unix charset = LOCALE
problem:
files are seen in windows correct iso8859 named.
if i look at the linux server, there are encrypted special characters in
the filenames. (e.g. "Entw?rfe" looks like "Entw?1/4rfe")
i've tested a long time and today i've tried to convert the filename:
sv01samba:/# echo Entw?1/4rfe | iconv -f utf8 -t iso8859-15
Entw?rfe
in my view, it seems, that samba ignores the given "unix charset" parameter.

2.1.1: subscriptions: Removing invalid entry
Admittedly, it's not a valid folder name and dovecot is right in
removing it:
Feb 28 17:50:05 postamt dovecot: imap(kbaessle): Warning: Subscriptions file /home/k/b/kbaessle/Maildir/subscriptions: Removing invalid entry: Entw?rfe
...but when looking at the subscription file AFTER the removal, that file
contained an empty line. I don't think that's correct.

Fixing broken UTF-8 handling with MySQL driver
...h a MySQL-backed dict to retrieve a folder name that is then passed to fileinto:
fileinto :create "${extdata.folder_name_drafts}";
Whenever this dict returned a string with non-7byte characters, a line such as the following popped up in sieve.log. (This example query should return "Entw?rfe".)

Samba works, but no acces to home directories

Permissions for the home directories should work I think:
