hardware ogg vorbis decoder
As it seems that the vorbis decoder is now stable with respect to
format/features, would it be time to start thinking about a hardware
implementation?
I would be interested in pursuing this if some there is consensus on
requirements.
If there is some enthusiasm for it then a module could be set up on the
opencores site for a gate-array decoder.

Packages - a great resource, but hard to find the right one
...ages), personal mixtures of tools in packages, packages to
accompany books, superceded packages, unusual packages, everything.
Above all there are lots of packages. As the software editor of the
Journal of Statistical Software I suggested we should review R
packages. No one has shown any enthusiasm for this suggestion, but I
think it would help. Any volunteers?

Yes .. this is sort of begging .. but I call it "enthusiasm" :-)

R-(wiki)-pedia?
Is there an R wiki?
Looking at the huge amount of traffic on this list, I think wiki could be
an exelet outlet for all the constructive enthusiasm here.
I don't think it would be too hard to port the existing R documentation
(the stuff you get with the ?) onto a wiki system, then users could add
their own examples and comments.
Having distinct web page style organization would be easier to navigate
than the mailing list archives. I lik...

Care to share an R presentation?
The R movement is picking up steam in the center of America. People
that ignored my R-enthusiasm 10 years ago are now calling me up asking
for presentations. I need to make a 2 hour presentation to a
collection of faculty and grad students who might like to use R. I
don't want to make it seem too complicated (as I often do), but I
don't want to mislead them to think it will be easy....

G729 on Solaris SPARC/x86/x64 Codec
...had a quick look around Digium's FTP server and cannot seem to find
these codecs (supported or unsupported).
Does anyone know if Digium plan on releasing a SPARC *and/or* Intel/AMD
G729 codec on Solaris?
I would have thought with the availability of Solaris and Open Solaris
that a little more enthusiasm would have been forthcomming in getting
the codecs running on those environments?
Thanks

[LLVMdev] LLVM Conference a Success!
Hi all!
I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with everyone at the conference
this year. The talks were great. There was a lot of enthusiasm about
LLVM. It was all just totally keen!!
Special thanks go out to Ted and Tanya for putting this all together.
Everything went super!
For those that met me and didn't get my email address, it's ... well,
this one here.
Hope to see everyone again next year!

A rep_each function
...(x, each = )
(It might also be worth having rep_times as a synonym for rep.int.)
While this could go in a package, since one of its main benefits is to
help beginners, I feel it ought to go in base R.
Before I submit this as a feature request, I thought I'd check here to
see if there was any enthusiasm. Does rep_len sound useful to you?

Pi 2 Alternatives
...onal systems.
Our development and deployment time frame does not drive the
need for an extremely rapid product decision, and there are
pre-planned upgrade cycles over the next five years.
An internal group has achieved a significant head of steam in
support of using the Pi 2 Model B.? The support enthusiasm may
be partly technical and partly the hype associated with jumping
into the Pi community.? The number of suppliers does appear to
support our supply chain and sustainment requirements, however
the Linux available for the Pi 2 does not appear to be optimal.
It would be better if there were choices...

Centos for Interested Children
...ised there is
nothing on centos.org for complete beginners to Linux or for children.
If anyone has the time, energy and interest, perhaps a basic technical
introduction to the Centos version of Linux would be a good long-term
objective.
Let's catch the children's interest, imagination and enthusiasm before
they become immersed and entrapped in a Micro$oft-only world.
Centos is for everyone including granddads and children.
Centos is the future of first-class reliable Open Source Software.

Hey, more power to you, really, Rails is exciting stuff! But, building
a custom solution based on this premise... is that really the best
option for your client at this time?
Again, not trying to be discouraging of your efforts or enthusiasm...
Just a friendly reality-check. And I wish you well whatever you decide
and if you go the custom route, we''ll all look forward to seeing it! :)

[LLVMdev] RFC: Another go at a cross compiler config file.
Hi,
Did this make it into review / commit? It's probably too late for 3.6 if it didn't, but I'd love to see it in 3.7. It would also be nice if this support could be something a bit more general in LLVM, rather than specifically in clang, so that other llvm tools (e.g. llvm-objdump) could take advantage of a similar format for target description files if they need something more
