Gateway question
Hi There is a Centos 7 up-to-date box with 2 interfaces, let's say 192.168.1.12 - enp2s0, 192.168.1.13 on enp3s0. Default gateway on enp2s0. The gateway is pfsense, IP is 192.168.1.1 with 2 WAN connections On the gateway the outgoing traffic is routed by source ip to different WAN, 192.168.1.12 to WAN1 and 192.168.1.13 to WAN2 On the centos box are set all the route and routing rules: route-enp2s0: 192.1...

macvtap and tagged VLANs to the VM
Hi, I would like to run a network firewall as a VM on a KVM host. There are ~ 25 VLANs delivered to the KVM host on three dedicated links, no LACP or other things. I have the VLANs 100-180 on the host's enp1s0, the VLANs 200-280 on the host's enp2s0 and the VLANs 300-380 on the host's enp3s0. To save myself from configuring all VLANs on the KVM host, I'd like to hand the entire ethernet link to the VM and to have the VLAN interfaces there. Using classical Linux bridges (brctl), things work fine. They don't when I try macvlan: On the host: 4: enp3s0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,U...

If I add "#route add default gw 192.168.1.1 dev enp3s0" all is good, but cannot add that in route-iface file or with "ip route" .... Thanks Levi

rpcbind fails to start after creating virbr0 bridge
...install without GUI. The machine has two network interface cards, and for now it's acting as gateway/firewall, and it's running ntpd, Dnsmasq and Rsnapshot. I'd like this machine to also be a KVM virtualization host, so I installed qemu-kvm and libvirt. The interface facing the LAN is enp3s0, so I created a virbr0 bridge like this. # /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp3s0 DEVICE=enp3s0 TYPE=Ethernet ONBOOT=yes BRIDGE=virbr0 And then: # /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-virbr0 DEVICE=virbr0 TYPE=Bridge ONBOOT=yes BOOTPROTO=static IPADDR=192.168.2.1 NET...

Specifying an IPv6 wildcard in the interfaces directive?
...ehind a filtering firewall. My ISP (Comcast) assigns both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses dynamically. As a result, the IPv4 address of my internal Samba server is statically assigned, but its IPv6 address is dynamically assigned. The server has multiple IPv4 addresses assigned to it, all on interface enp3s0. One of these I'd like to use for Samba, but the other is used as a proxy address for another device on my network, so I do NOT want Samba to bind to it , as it would conflict with SMB services on the proxied device. How would I go about configuring Samba so it will bind to ALL IPv6 addres...

Network configuration: desktop vs. laptop
...Manager applet on the desktop. And when I switch to cable, NetworkManager will prefer that connection automagically. On a default installation (I went for the KDE version), NetworkManager is active, so I'll keep that. 'ifconfig' shows me that the cabled connection is up and running via enp3s0 on the laptop. Wireless doesn't seem to work, but 'ifconfig -a' shows me a wlp2s0 interface, which means there's a chance it will work. First thing I did was edit ifcfg-enp3s0 like this: DEVICE="enp3s0" TYPE="Ethernet" NM_CONTROLLED="yes" Then...

Gateway question
...9;t matter, the routing to different WAN is a job of gateway's. And as I said in the initial message I achieved this ... :) The question is how can I achieve this with more elegant way, because the "route" command is deprecated anyway. So, again: Centos 7 2 NICs enp2s0-192.168.1.12 enp3s0-192.168.1.13 default gateway on enp2s0 is 192.168.1.1, defined in /etc/sysconfig/network Which other way (preferred with "ip route") can I add this, but: #route add default gw 192.168.1.1 dev enp3s0 ???? Thanks Levi

Need help getting two NICs to work on CentOS 7
Hello all Here is the scenario: We have a mail server VM which currently has two virtual NICs attached to it. One NIC is has an IP on a subnet with a default gateway defined and the other NIC has an IP on a different subnet with a different gateway on a different VLAN defined. Now when I activate both NICs, and run an ifconfig -a, I see that both IP addresses are showing. Now here is the
