Is there a way to find out how large the delay introduced by the encoder and decoder is? Or in other words, how many unprocessed samples the enocder / decoder has stored internally? One idea that came up to determine latency was to add timestamping information, but since I would have to add this data into the ogg stream it would not go through the encoder and decoder and thus have a different latency than audio signals. The only way I can get the file to be playable to everyone and their cat is to use ogg123 -d wav and then use oggenc to re-enocde the file. And then file is great and everyone can listen to the file. Somewhere in the new packet-loss concealment code, there is a bug. I tried encoding a 44100-hz stereo file and it decodes just fine, but if I try it with packet loss, I get a segmentation fault. If you want to see the file, I can put it up somewhere publicly accessible. If someone here can't work on it, I'll be back on my home computer in a few days, so I'll work on it then.
