Fully-Virtualized XEN domU not Booting over iSCSI
Hello,
I am currently trying to move my VMs from running on local host storage to
a shared storage (trying out iSCSI) but I am
facing a bit of a booting dilemma.
The domUs are a mix of paravirtualized and fully-virtualized VMs. They all
boot and run like clockwork when on local
storage.
The paravirtualized domUs appear not to have a problem when I relocate and
boot them from the shared storage

Session Based Record Locking - Solutions?
All,
I''ve written a simple job/opportunity tracking database app via RoR.
I have about 10 internal users.
Sometimes 2 people will want to update the same record at more or less
the same time and they collide.
In particular user 1 may edit a record, then get distracted, and
finally an hour later they click save.
During that hour user 2 may have pulled up the record, edited it, and

Odp: Currency return calculations
My mistake sir. I was literally engrossed in my stupid logic, and while doing so, overlooked the simple and very effective solution you had offered. Sorry once again sir and will certainly try to be very careful in future.
Thanks again and have a great weekend sir.
Regards

core-model-2
I''ve added experiments/core-model-2 to SVN. I think this is pretty clean and
satisfactory. Jeff, please have a look and see if you like the placement of
timeouts (which are currently unimplemented). Any event now has the
possibility of a timeout. To get an application-level timeout, you''d just
post an event with a timeout to a nil target. When the timeout expires, the

IPv6 literal addresses on command line
Hello all,
Can anyone give me a hint on how to specify an IPv6 address in an
rsync address literal - the colon character is already used to
seperate the host name from the remote directory AFAICT... I get, e.g.
rsync -Cavb 3ffe:502:420:120::2:/home/cam/dev/proj
3ffe: Unknown host
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code

time synchronization problem (using NTP)
Hi,
using SLES10 I''m unable to synchronize the time of DomU with that of Dom0. There
is a persistent offset of about 3 seconds!
Here''s a small history (not actual output):

Patterns for multiple forms
Hi,
I''m currently sat at home ill and am thinking about a problem I''ve
been looking at recently.
I have a form that lets users enter orders into a system. At the
moment its all pretty simple stuff (proof of concept rather than
working just for the time being), with basic details about an order
and a place for them to enter billing and delivery addresses.
I am also
