Problems running Commandos Behind enemy lines
Hello, I'm trying to get Commandos: Behind enemy lines to work in Wine. I've gotten so far that it starts up, but after a second or two, the graphics freezes and the sound loops. I get the following message in the terminal: > err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event wait timed out > fixme:d3d_caps:select_card_intel_mesa Card selection not handled for Mesa Intel driver >

Newbie to R: would like to solve a problem
..., representing 2 hits), and so on till about 5-8 hits (then I can just use normal curve in the web-calculator I'm making), then have a polynomial function estimate the probability distributions based on min, max, and skill. (So I can make my online calculator estimate the probability of killing enemies) Erm, I know it is a lot to ask for, but how would I go about making this in R? And if R isn't the right tool for this, is there any other tool you'd reccomend? Cause doing convolutions by hand sucks. Thanks a lot for reading this long message :) And thanks in advance for your help.

...n1/ld.1.html for the UNIX linker man page, -zlazyload > 4. CDDL annoys a lot of people. Yes, I know, GPL annoys a lot of people, too. But again, you?re going up against ash, which is BSD, which annoys almost no one. :) The CDDL does not annoy people, this is just a fairy tale from some OSS enemies. BTW: I am of course not against ash, I just support the Bourne Shell. ...as perl shows. ??? There is nothing different with heirloom. And the problem is the GPL. I recommend you to work on making all GPL code freely combinable with other OSS. My code is fully legal and there is absolutely no license problem with it. Just do not follow the false claims from some OSS enemies...and believe the lawyers that checked my code ;-) My code was audited by "Sun legal", "Oracle legal" and by the legal department from SuSe. Question: when will RedHat follow the legal audits from these companies? J?rg -- EMail:joerg at schily.net (ho...

Permission prob with scp
Hi... I am trying to do scp from one server to another. If permission of my home dir is 775 then it is not allowing to do the scp in case of passwd less authentication (i.e when i am using pubkey/private without passpharse). In this case it is asking for passwd even though the public key is present in home directory (.i.e in .ssh). But if i am changing the permission to 755 then it is not asking

memory, speed, and assigning results into new v. existing variable
I have a very large data frame, and I'm doing a conversion of all columns into factors. Takes a while (thanks to folks here though, for making faster!), but am wondering about optimization from a memory perspective... Internally, am I better off assigning into a new data frame, or doing one of these: dataframe<-someoperation(dataframe) It would seem that re-assigning into the same data

hardware issues under 5.6
Folks, This is, umm, odd. Two, at least, and possibly a third over the weekend, of some older Dell 1950's, suddenly died shortly after being upgraded to 5.6. They're all about the same age, and it's not happening with other systems, but they claim a scsi abort, and the f/s goes read-only. The little lcd screen goes orange, and shows a fatal error E 171, and B0 F3 D0? D0 F3

TSAN hack on AArch64 for Android
Folks, The review of patch http://reviews.llvm.org/D11532 is extremely slow due to the number of hacks, left-overs and general undesired changes and style that the submission has. That happens, and it's ok when the overall direction the patch is going was agreed, and is acceptable as generally good. But this is not the case. To wake up the elephant in the room, do we really think that
