Opus vs AAC (endurance test)
Opus is specifically designed to survive tandeming but you need to keep the frames aligned and not mess with the gain, which your tools probably do not do. Mahler's Book - New Project
...formation that's available. I typically like to have something thick with pages in front of me. Mahler's book was the first one to come up and it seems like a good place to start. However, the big name bookstores tell me it'll take up to three weeks, and this project simply can't endure that wait. Does anyone know where it's possible to get a paper copy *quickly*? #2, I'm planning to interface Asterisk with a Norstar MICS via PRI. Can anyone recommend a reference book or site more suited to this task? Thanks and regards, David Stude Receptec, LLC Holly, MI ----------...

Wysiwyg html editor for note taking
I am looking for a wsyiwyg html editor for note taking as I build up a system to note what I am doing. I typically just use gedit, but this system's notes are getting complex, and using code tabs, lists, and the like would make it more enduring. I am looking at lonote on my F17 notebook, but I would like to do the note taking directly on the Centos system. Just basic html. Image

Fwd: Enduring LME confusion… or Psychologists and Mixed-Effects
In my undertstanding of the problem, the model lme1 <- lme(resp~fact1*fact2, random=~1|subj) should be ok, providing that variances are homogenous both between & within subjects. The function will sort out which factors & interactions are to be compared within subjects, & which between subjects. The problem with df's arises (for lme() in nlme, but not in lme4), when

RExcel issues
Hi - For a while I've used RExcel without problems to run a repeating portfolio optimization problem where I solve for a portfolio allocation targeting a particular risk, then solve for a different risk, etc. I call the commands with (e.g.) rinterface.Rrun "(R command)" Recently that macro started blowing up, returning #RErrors, and when I try to trace the error I find that it is

command line fails
Hi - Think this is quick help. Not sure how to trap what is causing my simple script to run fine in R, but fail immediately when called from rscript. I can put all sorts of traps in the script itself, but when called from the command line the r window simply flashes and closes. There's probably a way to find out why rscript is failing, but I don't know it and can't seem to find it

Dead Gateway Detection with PPPoE
Gentlefolk, First, many thanks to EVERYONE that tries so hard to make this advanced routing stuff useful to the "...rest of us"! You all rock! I have been prowling the archives of this list for an answer to my problem, and have seen some close situations, but no joy. Yet. I''ve got a relatively simple setup I''m trying to get working: we''ve got a

Fascinating. The script runs fine in 3.2.5, but won't run in 3.4.3 even with ALL lines commented out. I have no idea what that means. I can't imagine I found a 3.4.3 bug no one knows about. SSD drives are really fast running Dovecot
I just replaced my drives for Dovecot using Maildir format with a pair of Solid State Drives (SSD) in a raid 0 configuration. It's really really fast. Kind of expensive but it's like getting 20x the speed for 20x the price. I think the big gain is in the 0 seek time. Here's what I bought. chopped audio problem
...blem is that the streamed audio gets chopped -on the LAN!!! The audio is encoded in 32kbps and I have a 512kbps/512kbps connection, so it should be enough to stream several connections at once. It sounds just like when a cd gets dirty or scracthed on the back. Anyway, it seems to go away if you can endure the terrible sound for a while, or you restart winamp. F. ex. suddenly it would work on 1 client and then I try another client which then has the same problem. Irritating. What can I do to make it work from the beginning? Intel 320 as ZIL?
Are any of you using the Intel 320 as ZIL? It''s MLC based, but I understand its wear and performance characteristics can be bumped up significantly by increasing the overprovisioning to 20% (dropping usable capacity to 80%). Anyone have experience with this? Ray
