Dear R-Users I have a problem accessing some values in the output from the summary of an lme fit. I fit the model below: ggg <- lme (ST~ -1 + as.factor(endp):Z.sas + as.factor(endp), data=dat4a, random=~-1 + as.factor(endp) + as.factor(endp):Z.sas|as.factor(trials), correlation = corSymm(form=~1|as.factor(trials)/as.factor(id)), weights=varIdent(form=~1|endp)) hh

save method (create action) saves twice
Rails 3.1.3 I have changed a regular scaffold action a bit so that it can save using ajax. All I needed to do was adding ":remote => true" in <div id="script_new"> <%= form_for script, :remote => true do |f| %> <!-- HERE!!! --> <%= f.hidden_field :video_id %> <%= f.text_field :text %> <%= f.submit "save" %>

Domain name search path use during PXE booting
Currently it appears that when PXE booting the domain search option is ignored and only the domain name option used for name resolution. The following patch adds support for domain search path usage when PXE booting: - adds parsing of the DHCP domain search option (119) - When resolving names via dns_resolv uses the search path if there's no dot in the name. - Reverts to the

[PATCH 0/3] xenoprof fixes
These patches address issues in the kernel part of xenoprof: * Ill-advised use of on_each_cpu() can lead to sleep with interrupts disabled. * Race conditions in active_domains code. * Cleanup of active_domains code. Comments welcome. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

File Offsets for SCP (patch)
I don't know if anyone would be interested in this but I'm including a patch to allow for offsets when transferring files with SCP. It's pretty simple and assumes the user knows what they are doing (for example, if transferring with a wild card the offset would apply to all files). -A is the number of bytes offset from the beginning of the files. -Z is the number of bytes inset

[Bridge] Re: BUG: when using 'brctl stp'
Bridge locking for /sys/class/net/br0/bridge/stp_enabled was wrong. Another bug in bridge utilities makes it such that this interface, meant it wasn't being used. The locking needs to be removed from set_stp_state(), the lock is already acquired down in br_stp_start()/br_stp_stop. spss long labels
Hi, A frequently seen issue with importing SPSS data files, is that R does not import the 'long variable names'. I built a patch on the R-project's foreign module, in order to import the 'long variable names' from SPSS (record 7, subtype 13). To complete the job, I had to expand the "struct variable" definition to have 64 +1 charachters. I'm not aware of side

strtoi output of empty string inconsistent across platforms
Identified as root cause of a bug in data.table: https://github.com/Rdatatable/data.table/issues/3267 On my machine, strtoi("", base = 2L) produces NA_integer_ (which seems consistent with ?strtoi: "Values which cannot be interpreted as integers or would overflow are returned as NA_integer_"). But on all the other machines I've seen, 0L is returned. This seems to be

Dear R Users I have difficulties accessing the variance components for an lme fit when the variance covariance matrix of the random effects is not positive definite. Can anyone inform me on how to get by this ? Thanks in advance Pryseley --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Strange C programming problem
I've got this little program I wrote to test something, and it keeps giving the wrong result. I'm not inexperienced in C, but I can't believe strtof (et al) are broken, so I must be doing something wrong. However, I've spent hours looking at this and comparing it to the man pages and don't see what I'm doing wrong. strtod() and strtold() also give equally wrong results.

Domain name search path use during PXE booting
Domain naming parsing wise, I couldn't find any code or any cases where the domain search option (119) is processed. Pointer loop handling: I agree that 32 is pretty arbitrary, the issue I was trying to prevent is a pointer at the end of a label pointing at the same label. This would still be backwards but infinite. However, this does suggest a solution: The pointer must be before the

Building Opus (git master) ARM assembly for iOS
I?m trying to build Opus (git master) for iOS, and it doesn?t build unless I disable the ARM assembly. It looks like the problem is that Apple?s assembler doesn?t support all the assembler directives that the GNU assembler does. I suspect this is a combination of the fact that Apple platforms are Mach-O rather than Elf, and just the fact that Apple?s assembler is extremely divergent from the

Thanks Martin. For what it's worth, this extremely representative, highly scientific Twitter poll suggests the Mac/Linux split is pretty stark (NA on Mac, 0 on Linux) https://twitter.com/michael_chirico/status/1083649190117306369?s=17 On Sat, Jan 12, 2019, 2:00 AM Martin Maechler <maechler at stat.math.ethz.ch wrote: > >>>>> Martin Maechler > >>>>>
