Codeowner for MIPS
Dear community, I will be leaving MIPS on the 20th to pursue other LLVM based endeavours. As such, I am stepping down as code owner. My apologies for the timing with regard to the current release, I had hoped that the process would have be complete by then. I would like to nominate Simon Atanaysan as the new code owner for the MIPS backend. Thanks, Simon -------------- next part

build system for cutting edge software
Hi, I use centos as it is stable and provides all the software that is needed for everyday use. However, sometimes I would like to use fresh software that is not available as a package. Compiling from source is indeed an option but because centos uses oldish sources not only the sought package should be built but a lot of other packages. An idea is to build it in a directory, as much

IMP: Release 4.0: CentOS 6 packages will not be made available
Gluster Users, This is to inform you that from the 4.0 release onward, packages for CentOS 6 will not be built by the gluster community. This also means that the CentOS SIG will not receive updates for 4.0 gluster packages. Gluster release 3.12 and its predecessors will receive CentOS 6 updates till Release 4.3 of gluster (which is slated around Dec, 2018). The decision is due to the following,

Windows package development: bad html links to functions in non-standard packages
I am using R 2.0.1 Patched on Windows 2000. I have created a binary package for Windows that builds, checks, installs and works without errors. In some of my .Rd files, I have links to functions in the standard packages supplied with R as well as links to others in add-on packages that I have installed. For instance, one .Rd file has the following snippet: \seealso{

inconsistent directory locations for dns.keytab
Hello, FYI note here... I?ve done several AD-DC installs recently using Louis?s packages on Ubuntu Bionic. I?ve seen this with 4.10.5 - 4.10.8 packages I noticed that the initial install puts dns.keytab in /var/lib/samba/private/ Then this command: samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ will place a new dns.keytab file in /var/lib/samba/bind-dns The documentation on the samba wiki, and the

proposed new doco for "Gluster 3.1: Installing GlusterFS on OpenSolaris"
Hi all Reference: http://support.zresearch.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1:_Installing_GlusterFS_on_OpenSolaris I have found this guide to be too brief/terse, and have endeavoured to improve it via more of a recipie/howto approach - and possibly misunderstood the intent of the brief directions in the process. Please advise if there are any errors? Once the procedure is corrected/confirmed by the experts, I propose it replace the current one - so more people can combine th...

problems compiling packages | 3.3.0 | Linux
Updated my R install on my GNU/Linux boxes (running CentOS 6.8) from 3.2.x -> 3.3.0, using latest from epel (i.e., not compiling from source), and while said upgrade seemed to go fine, am now (post-upgrade) having all sorts of problems with getting some (but not all) packages to compile (either during an initial install attempt, or upgrade to existing packages). For example, if I try to

LLVM static libs
Hi, the first question is addressed both to llvm-dev and gentoo-dev. The second one is Gentoo specific. Is there any possibility to build LLVM both as static and shared libraries? What I see currently is that our ebuild makes LLVM to build shared libs unconditionally. Is there a possibility (if it is impossible to build both lib types) to at least give to user control on what kind of libs he

R-code embedded in VBE -- Type mismatch errors
Hello, I am trying to embed R-code inside VB for Excel (probably a perverse endeavour anyway) and I am running into difficulties, especially when passing vectors back and forth between the two environments. (1) I am using the RExcel package. (2) An example of error that I often get and that I can't seem to be able to work myself around of is the following VB message: ------ Run-time

BIG changes to kernel module
Hey all, I've just pushed a major rework/rewrite of the Nouveau kernel module to git[1]. Details of the whys and what-nots of the rework are in the various commit messages. At this point don't expect any exciting cool functionality, the work so far is merely a restructure to allow moving forward on a number of fronts in the future. I expect that for a while there will be a *lot* of
