Intel VT-d success
I just wanted to let you guys know that the Intel 3210SHLX server board works with VT-d. I''ve googled a lot, and could''t find much about it. The BIOS needs to be updated to R0047 for it to be enbled. (or at least later than R0044 which mine was shipped with) I tested exporting a nic to a smothwall hvm domU, works fine. Exporting a 3Ware 9xxx series Raid controller to a WinXP domU also works flawlessly! http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo <- Are there any maintainers here who can up...

POP3 problems
Migrated a 1.0.2 server to 2.0.16 (same old box). IMAP seems working Ok. POP3 give problems with some clients (Outlook 2010 and Thunderbird reported). Shared Squat index for public mailboxes
Hi, I'm running Dovecot 1.2.17 for serving mail via IMAP as well as for providing access to a mailing list archive. The archive is implemented as a public read-only mailbox with per-user index files (i.e. the \Seen flags are per-user). I recently enbled the Squat plugin to accelerate searches in the message bodies and noticed that every user (I'm using a virtual user setup) gets his own dovecot.index.search and dovecot.index.search.uids copies. Is it possible to share those files among all users of the system? The squat plugin appears to s...

Offline indexing issues
If I disable ferret in my environment file and then run a cron job every hour to index the records that have been added/changed, do I enable Ferret just in the script that does the hourly indexing? Or do I somehow need to tell the process that runs the Ferret DRB server that it should start writing to the index again? Thanks in advance. Erik

Samba_dlz: canceling trasaction on zone domain
Hey Rowland, Below is a cutdown version of my DHCP. As you can see, I haven't really set anything up for ddns-update. While using Samba4's internal DNS I had the setting 'ddns-update-style interim;' and it seemed to have worked fine. But with bind I'm not sure what else is needed. Thanks for taking a look at it. Fixing a rejected peer
...copied things over, ensuring that the tier-enabled line was absent and started back up; the cksum immediately changed to some a bad value, the two good nodes added that line in, and the bad node didn't have it. Just to have a clear view of this, I did it yet again, this time ensuring the tier-enbled line was present everywhere. Same result, except that it didn't add the tier-enabled line, which I suppose makes some sense. One oddity - I see: # gluster v get all cluster.op-version Option Value ------ ----- cluster.op-versi...

Looks great - loaded ldlinux.c32 over HTTP from a KVM with ipxe support, and from hardware with a Mellanox iPXE bootrom. Big +1 from here. Thanks Gene! -Alan

Can you get page dirtying information on non-migrating VMs?
Hello everyone, I've been looking through the libvirt API to get information about memory page dirtying of VMs. I need these to aid decisions on which VM to migrate. The only thing I found is virDomainGetJobStats() with VIR_DOMAIN_JOB_MEMORY_DIRTY_RATE but that only works when a migration is already running. Is there a way to get information on VMs which are not already migrating? Thanks

Tru64 and OSF/1 Privsep patch
Ok.. I need wider testing for this. I'm getting reports back it works mostly. 'ssh site ls' fails, but they can login with Privsep enbled. Can I get those who are using Tru64 or OSF/1 that have SIA enabled to test? This should apple to either -cvs or the current snapshot (I would perfer not to use 3.4p1 due to bugs). I'm going on a trip next week and will be around very spotty at best. As a result I'm not dead sure when t...
