R routines vs. MATLAB/SPSS Routines
Hi all, I've become quite enamored of R lately, and have decided to try to teach some of its basics (reading in data, manipulation and classical stats analyses) to my fellow grad students at the University of Toronto. I sent out a mass email and have already received some positive responses. One student, however, wanted to kno...

Redirect without port number?
...bar. I prefer people not to see this - I don''t want bookmarks saved with it for example in case I move my host or port. I have this issue both with my custom application and with Typo. In my app I tried url_for :only_path => true which didn''t seem to help, and I''m not enamored with doing this in Typo and then re-doing it if I ever upgrade, is there a way to "hide" the port number from rails? -- Jeremy Huffman http://www.jeremyhuffman.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Install of CentOS 7.6 On Dell PowerEdge R830 Hangs
All, Seems like the latest CentOS 7.6 and I are not playing well together, these days. I'm attempting to use our pxeboot setup to install the latest CentOS 7 on a Dell PowerEdge R830. The install starts then gets to a certain point and hangs. That certain point is: FADT indicates ASPM is unsupported, using BIOS configuration Now I've tried to see where the Active Server Power Management

rspec with autotest on a windows machine
Hello all, I''m new to rSpec but after reading a couple of tutorials I''ve become enamored. Anyway, I am at minute 42 of the rSpec basics screencast ( peepcode.com) and I''m having the following error running autotest w/rSpec: D:\ruby\projects\forecaster>autotest loading autotest/rails_rspec c:\ruby\bin\ruby -rrubygems -e "require ''redgreen''" -S s...

Dell has been notorious for requiring BIOS updates for things like video cards and microp...

DRb + Chat interface?
Hello, I''m an amateur rails developer, and am currently developing a project that needs a somewhat specialized chat client. I''ve recently become enamored with DRb, and was wondering if anyone had tried implementing it when attempting to make a chat client. The reason I want to use DRb instead of some other way of doing it is because if I understand it right the client should be able to do more to the data than with a more standard form of chat clien...

ZFS storage appliance?
I''ve been doing a lot of reading about ZFS lately, and I''m quite enamored of its design goals. The reliability considerations are particularly attractive, and the snapshot scheme is more robust than anything I''m familiar with. I would very much like to keep my personal data in such a filesystem. Some time ago, I caught the launch of Drobo, a USB-connected box t...

[LLVMdev] Thoughts about ExecutionEngine/MCJIT interface
Another question: Lang, when do you think it'll be ok to move it to the C Bindings? On Fri, Mar 13, 2015 at 6:39 PM, Lang Hames <lhames at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Pawel, > > I agree. Do you use R for data manipulation?
...n from, one may need to change the file name or file path and tinker under the hood to accomplish that. My bias is to fulfill all our data manipulation and reshaping with R. Since I am the principal investigator it is me who stays constant and coders or analysts who may come and go. I am even more enamored with R for data manipulation since reading a book about it. [LLVMdev] RFC: More AVX Experience
...riate symbols based on the specific instruction generated ([v]PS, [V]PD, etc.). I still don't know how to capture the hierarchy under sse1_sse2_avx_binary_scalar_xs_xd_node_pattern_rm_rrm and other such higher-level classes. Right now it's generated by a Perl script but Chris isn't enamored of that solution. I think it can be better as well. One thought I had was to implement a "copy arguments" feature in TableGen so we could do something like this: defm FsANDN : sse1_binary_scalar_xs_node_pattern_rm< 0x55, "andn", [[(set DSTRE...

Ceph RBD locking for libvirt-managed LXC (someday) live migrations
Hi, I'm trying to build an active/active virtualization cluster using a Ceph RBD as backing for each libvirt-managed LXC. I know live migration for LXC isn't yet possible, but I'd like to build my infrastructure as if it were. That is, I would like to be sure proper locking is in place for live migrations to someday take place. In other words, I'm building things as if I were

one-to-one, compound primary key, naming conventions
My understanding is that, given tables Alpha and Beta that the table which holds the 1-to-1 relation will be called Alpha_Beta (or is it alpha_beta?). So far so good. alpha_beta will have, lets say, two fields: alpha_id and beta_id. Seems that it''d be a good idea for those two fields to form a compound primary key, ensuring there are no duplicates. However, RoR doesn''t

Introduce yourself and your project -- Round 2
On December 14th, 2004 David Heinemeier Hansson sent this to the mailing list: I''m seeing a lot of new names on the list. Could we perhaps do a round of introductions? That would also be a great first post, if you haven''t had a chance to contribute yet. The basics should include your name, your organization, your country and city, and the project you''re
