The Xen documentation (in INSTALL) recommends enabing
xen-init-dom0.service, xenconsoled.service, and
xen-qemu-dom0-disk-backend.service. I didn't specifically enable
xenstored, because I figured that was the "systemd way" -- specify the
dependencies, specify what you actually want (i.e., a xen dom0), and
let it sort out what actuall...

[PATCH v2 3/3] rhv-upload: Support qcow2 disk format
When using oVirt >= 4.3, we can enable the NBD based backend in imageio
by specifying that we transfer raw data when creating a transfer. With
the NBD backend, we can import to disks using qcow2 format.
To make it work, we override output#transfer_format to return always raw
format, but we create the disk on RHV side using qcow2 fo...

[PATCH] rhv-upload: Support qcow2 disks
When using oVirt >= 4.3, we can enable the NBD based backend in imageio
by specifying that we transfer raw data when creating a transfer.
With the NBD backend, we can specify qcow2 disk format.
I think we need a way to expose the capabilities of the output to the
user. For example, can we use qcow2 format.

LDAP Upgrades (both Unix and Samba)
...s case, my "base" (the root of
my tree) is "dc=precidia" and the sub-tree is "Domains". Despite the
fact that I said you cannot store an object in a "ou=Domains" without
first creating it, it is possible to create it and store it there at the
same time.
Enabing Ssecure LDAP ("ldaps") is left as an exercise to the reader!
(That means I haven't yet done it at the time this was written.)
Luckily, the LDAP Account Manager will do much of that for you...

Problem with network browsing
I'm trying to diagnose why my windows 10 clients can't do network browsing.
The network neighborhood doesn't show any of my machines running samba.
I've verified that all of my samba hosts are running nmbd!
I've reached the end of my ability to debug this, so I could really use
some help from the list to figure out why this isn't working.
I've isolated the situation

total warning-removal for daemon/
...nings in daemon were aggravating and risky
for development (too easy to miss new ones) so I spent some
time last week and today working on removing them.
The first patch gets us down to almost no warnings with
the original -Wall setting. That was by far the hardest part.
Once I'd done that, I enabled nearly all of gcc's warnings via
gnulib's warnings and manywarnings modules and the code
added to configure.ac in the final patch.
I did it that way so that we can still bisect without compile
failure, even when using the new --enable-gcc-warnings option.
I.e., fix all warnings, *and th...
