has anyone experienced problems with ocfs2 1.2.5-1 using Emulex LP10000 HBA cards and EMC CX700 SAN's?
Does anyone have any experience with Emulex HBA cards (LP10000) using OCFS2, Linux AS4 U4 x86_64 AMD? I'm trying to find out whether this is a verified combination, if anyone has successfully used it. I have that hardware/sofware combination, and am experiencing stability/performance/panic/hang issues with OCFS2. -------------- next pa...

file.system() in packages
...such as ... BiBTeX input files) must in the vignette source directory". So I've put my Rnw file and also the bib file in emulator/vignettes/ directory. And indeed, following R CMD build and then R CMD INSTALL on the tarball, I can see the Rnw file: > system.file("doc","emulex.Rnw",package="emulator") [1] "/home/rksh/Rd/lib64/R/library/emulator/doc/emulex.Rnw" > so I know system.file() works as desired. But I can't find uncertainty.bib as R CMD INSTALL does not copy it to the system: > system.file("doc","uncertainty.bi...

Xyratex disk units
...hat the company went bust some years ago, so I have been running this system unsupported. I am loath to give up the disk space though. The two things I worry about are, the fibre channel connection and the external disk trays. Unfortunately, what I know about fibre channel is very little. They are emulex HBAs, and I guess there used to software called lputil, but this is no longer available at the Emulex site. It has been replaced by something called HBAnywhere, but I have not succeeded in building that on CentOS 4. Uprading the OS is out of the question I would think while maintaining the file sys...

Re: SR-IOV: no traffic isolation between VFs with Broadcom 10Gbps cards
...h making the decision about what gets mirrored back, but > you need an 802.1Qbh-capable switch for that. What I meant by "failed" was a lack of traffic switching. I thought that the PF driver was responsible for configuring L2 switching on the NIC. Some others manufacturers, such as Emulex, have an internal switch. This is an extract from Emulex Whitepaper: "I/O’s between VFs on the same PF can be processed by the adapter using an internal Layer 2 switch, eliminating routing through a physical switch" I doubt that Broadcom has a specific and unsecure behavior for PF/VF...

ZFS and powerpath
How much fun can you have with a simple thing like powerpath? Here''s the story: I have a (remote) system with access to a couple of EMC LUNs. Originally, I set it up with mpxio and created a simple zpool containing the two LUNs. It''s now been reconfigured to use powerpath instead of mpxio. My problem is that I can''t import the pool. I get: pool: ###### id:

pcifront (CONFIG_XEN_PCIDEV_FRONTEND=m) support in RHEL 4.5 x86 Dom U
Dear All, The production server supports Intel Virtualization Technology. Processor is an Intel Xeon 1.86 GHz Quad Core. 8 GB DDR2 memory. There is also an Emulex LightPulse Fiber Channel HBA adapter. The host operating system (Dom 0) is RHEL 5 x86 with Xen Virtualization technology. Dom 0 kernel is 2.6.18-8.el5xen. I have recompiled the Dom 0 kernel so that pciback (CONFIG_XEN_PCIDEV_BACKEND=y) is compiled statically into the kernel. Upon parsing the pciba...

I met the lock problem by the follwoing operations: fdisk /dev/sdbX e2mkfs -j /dev/sdbX mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/raid/X // run 16 sample programs for each mount point // pulled the FC cable and then some jobs abended. //...

CentOS and EMC PowerPath/Naviagent
Is anyone using CentOS 4.4 with an EMC Clariion SAN? In particular, I want to know if PowerPath and Naviagent will work on a CentOS 4 system connected to a san using Qlogic or Emulex cards. I tried a couple years ago with Fedora Core 1 or 2, and couldn't get the kernel modules from PowerPath to work since the kernel wasn't the official RHEL one. I'm most interested in Centos4.4/x86_64, but Centos 4.4/x86 is if interest, too. -- Prentice The contents of this c...

An HP guy said that there wasn't problems by installing Redhat, in contrast with CentOS HP brings every single driver (maybe I could use it). The output of lspci lspci | grep Eth .... Ethernet Controller: Emulex corporation One connect 10GB NIC (be3) (rev01) I have installed the kit that Emulex brings for CentOS from its webpage, but, again, I don't know why it shows 8 interfaces when there are only 2 NICs and 2 iscsi for HBA. Thanks.

Centos 5.7 Xen 4.1 AMD 64 from gitco cannot attach usb port to domU windows 7
Hi. Just wondering is someone have been able to connect usb memory sticks in xen 4.1-gitco running hvm windows 7? I use xen 4.1 from gitco, is working without any issue, I need support for a usb memory stick, but I had not been able to make this works. Reading xm commands and process, first my MB Biostar A780L3L v6 wont support IOMMU. Now exist a doc from xen wiki from someone from Fujitso

FSCK of corrupted ext3 filesystem
Hello, I have a 1.3TB ext3 filesystem that has been in service for about 3 months. About 6 days ago the Emulex fibrechannel controller logged a SCSI error and the filesystem changed to RO. It appears that the filesystem instantly changes to RO and prevents the journal from working, therefore invalidating the filesystem. The filesystem was unmounted and a remount was attempted. The mount failed due to err...

Ocfs and EMC Powerpath
A couple years ago, we moved to Oracle RAC on Linux using ocfs that is SAN attached to an EMC CLARiiON. At the time, there was a reason that we did NOT use EMC's Powerpath (I just can't recall what that reason was). What I'd like to know is if there are any issues with introducing Powerpath now. * RHEL 2.1 AS * 2.4.9-e.38enterprise * ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.13-1 * EMC
