Problems joining W2K Client to Samba 2.2.8 on RH9

Printer sharing
Hi,
i used
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = yes
printable = yes
public=yes
create mode = 0700
to share my printers to W2K Clients. For that i created a printer
(printing is working locally) on my linux machine (RH9, Samba 2.2.7,
Cups). If i try now to use this printer on my W2K machines i can create
a Printer in the Control Panel browsing the Domain and

Multichannel files
Hi,
As I´ve understood things, the Ogg Vorbis format supports more that two
channels (stereo). Is there any tools to encode x sourcefiles into one .ogg
file?
I am a musican and am thrilled with the ide of makeing music in surround
(or in more than stereo).
This leads to my next question: is there (developing) any decoders for
multichannel oggs to, let us say, 4.1 or 5.1 surround? Wouldn´t it

Question Re Basis Pro5 and Samba File and Record Locking
Don't know much about Samba, so maybe this is a silly question, but could I
use SAMBA to allow Pro5 (Basis) applications, running on a number of SCO
Unix servers, to access data on a common server? (ie 6 SCO application
servers need to access a common data base, sitting on a separate SCO
server.)
We have tried mounting an NFS volume on the data server to each of the
application servers,

Reinstallation of a samba server
Hello together,
i'm running samba 2 on a red hat system. This system is not very stable,
so we want to reinstall it completely. We are using samba as a domain
controller for the windows client. My question. What happens to the
local user profile folders on every client if i setup a new samba server
(naming the Domain and users as in the old system)? Of course we want to
keep all data in
