[Off Topic, kind of] eMachine model T5254
Hi list, Best Buy currently has an eMachine on sale for less than $300.00 without monitor. I didn't see any recent complaints on www.consumeraffairs.com. I didn't take the time to do a thourgh search so may have missed some. Red Hat hardware list does not have one eMachine listed. I went to eMachine's home page and found the foll...

Time is Fleeting: CentOS 4 question
...r time resolution. For some reason, time on this server moves forward at a far more rapid rate. Right now, all my other systems show Sunday May 8, 3:19 pm. The CentOS server thinks its Monday May 9, 3:54 pm. I just reset it about four hours ago to the correct time. I'm using an inexpensive eMachines T6212 AMD Athon 64 processor and 1 GB RAM. Can anyone suggest a reason why this server thinks it's 25 hours in the future and growing more distant with each minute? Thanks, Bill -- Bill Diamond <bill at billdiamond.com>

Easiest (best?) linux distribution for dedicated Asterisk box?
First off, I'm sorry for sending so many messages to the list-serv. Hopefully this will be my last for a while! I was going to use my WRT54G router as a small Asterisk box, but I forgot that I had a spare eMachines computer (Intel Celeron 633 MHz, 20GB HD, 64mb RAM). Will this machine work OK for a very simple dedicated home Asterisk box? Also, what is easiest linux distribution to use and install? All I want is a simple Asterisk box that I can telnet into and have voicemail, music-on-hold (MP3), etc...

Unknown keyword in config file
I'm trying to boot Fedora Core 5 Test 3 from either CD or DVD, (which uses ISOLINUX), and I get the error messages: Unknown keyword in config file Could not find kernel image: linux boot: There are at least two other people in the world with the same problem. Unfortunately, all of the rest of the Fedora test community doesn't seem to have a problem with it, so its not a high profile

Need off-the-shelve PC for Asterisk Server
...ations on an off-the-shelve PC for an Asterisk Server? This is for a proof of concept, so it needs to be inexpensive. I have tried 2 different PC's and had problems with the sound cards. I am thinking of PC's I can buy from local dealers like Best Buy, Office Depot. SO a cheap HP, Compaq or eMachine would work fine for me. --Steve

[LLVMdev] MC ELFObjectWriter backend refactoring
...d implemented in X86AsmBackend.cpp and ARMAsmBackend.cpp; it may be better to put these classes in their own files. 2. The ELFObjectWriter base class is declared in llvm/MC/MCObjectWriter.h; it may be better to put this declaration in its own header file. 3. Some of the flags, such as Is64Bit and EMachine, could be virtual methods instead of values passed to the base ELFObjectWriter class. 4. Refactoring of MachObjectWriter and WinCOFFObjectWriter could be done as well. 5. I could just add the MBlaze backend specific stuff into ELFObjectWriter like all of the other backends. Are their any other o...

Adding a new target to 'llvm-lld'
...erated trampolines between functions. - InputSection.cpp ; Support relocation calculations specific to Arm. I needed to add support for a couple of Arm specific section types to InputFiles.cpp, but otherwise the generic Elf loading parts of LLD worked without modification. Searching for Config->EMachine will give you a good idea where something custom has had to be put in for one of the targets. Stepping through run() in Writer.cpp will give you a good idea of what order LLD does various passes. Hope this helps and I'll be happy to try and answer any questions. Peter On 25 January 2018 at...

LLD bug causing objcopy ELF to binary generation to create large binaries
Hi LLVM devs,  I came across an LLD bug in v 10.x where ELF parser / processor is setting .PROGBITS attribute for .heap and .stack sections, which leads to large binaries when we do `llvm-objcopy -o binary` to generate the binary output for armv6m. (e.g. for a 57Kb elf would yield a ~400Mb binary). This in comparison with LLVM 7.x , would produce the correct binary size of 35Kb and the

Adding a new target to 'llvm-lld'
Hi LLVM-Devs, I am considering switching to using 'llvm-lld' instead of Gnu 'ld' in a future revision of our out-of-tree target, and I am wondering is there a getting started guide for how to go about extending 'llvm-lld' to support an additional target. Really Weird Question.....
So I just got ahold of an old e-Machine (Model EL1600) with 1GB of memory. I was going to install CEntOS on it and try to run VirtualBox for other OS'es. I am curious to know if I have to stick with the 2GB "max" the specs say the machine can take or if its possible to install a 4GB module that is designed the same? In other words I have seen 2GB DDR PC2700 memory that will fit

[lld] Garbage collection of linked sections with the SHF_LINK_ORDER flag
...C and D where D is linked to C, and A == C, ICF should only merge A and C when linked sections B and D are equal too. Current implementation as you mentioned simply propogates the flag in a hacky way instead when target is ARM. And easy change for your case would be to remove "if (Config->EMachine == EM_ARM)" check at line https://github.com/llvm-mirror/lld/blob/master/ELF/ICF.cpp#L442 I believe. I do not know what way we would want to go here. +Rui and Rafael. George.
