SWAT works with Webmin but not via localhost:901
...netd.d a tun of times. It appears, via netstat that swat is listening on port 901. However when I attempt to access it via the Mozilla browser on my Fedora server (with 127.0.0.1:901 or localhost:901) nothing happens. It just sits there. However, if I access it via webmin (which has swat stored elseware) it works fine. Any thoughts? ROB

amd64 issue with flac-1.1.3 beta2
...es, where size_t is 8 bytes. Changing FLAC__bitbuffer_get_buffer to take a size_t * seems to fix it. But as I said, I only have 1 days amd64 experience, so I don't really know what I am doing! I also havent checked if anyone else is calling get_buffer with an unsigned * so maby this will break elseware now. Has anyone else tested on amd64? Let me know if you want me to do any more tests. Thanks, Dave

more or less pager
...ore this if there is a more proper way of doing this in R (preferrably by default without the more()), but also please include some reference to this under keywords `pager', `more' or `less' in the documentation. smbpasswd + ldap -- changing stuff it shouldn't
...e, and even then, ONLY if they do not allready exist (ie a completely new/blank user). Running a -a against an allready existing posixuser (or otherwise) should only add the samba bits and the sambaaccount objectclass, and still not touch uid or cn, as these are often authoritatively controlled elseware. Also, attribs that arent different shouldnt really be re-modified. IE only change them if the new value is different. It looks like smbpasswd pushes most of this stuff unconditionally. This seems to be the case with objectclass, as it only seems to attempt to add the sambauser class i...

R as unix filter
R-devel, R is great, and in fact so great that I have whished to use it as a proper Unix filter ever since I started using it. Just like octave, perl, bash, etc. Even though I could only find one message in the R-mailing lists, I can't imagine nobody else would want to be able to say on a nice bash command line: $ cat data-file | some-process | R-script | another-process > file.out

effect size
Hi, Having searched google '[R] aov effect size' without any results I wonder if I not completely miss something. Is there any R function that calculates the effect size of an AOV's main effect or interaction effect? It should be related to the F's and the degree of freedom of the error, but the multitude in numbers in aov() baffle me a bit. Thanks, ---david
