Grouping data
Hi, I am quite new to R (but like it very much!), so please apologize if this is a too simple question. I have a large data frame consisting of data from a survey. There is, for example, information about age and education (a numeric value from 1-9). Now I would like to extract the total amount of each type of education within different age groups (e.g. from 18 to 25, from 25 to 35 etc.).

Multivariate dispersion & distances
...ot only in the dispersion within the group but also the distances between the groups. With betadisper I get distances to group centroids but is it possible to get distances to other groups centroids? It might be possible to do it by hand by the formula given in the description of the betadisper (below) but I'm a bit confused how to treat the imaginary part there... z[ij]^c = sqrt(Delta^2(u[ij]^+, c[i]^+) - Delta^2(u[ij]^-, c[i]^-)) I would highly appreciate all the help I can get! -Merja -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Multivariate-dispersion-distance...

login scripts --what to use
Hi, We're setting up a PDC, and would like to have a login script to deliver the mapped drives to users in particular groups, and connect to printers. The printer drivers come from the [print$], share. Does anyone have any good resources for this? What's the easiest and simplest thing to get going --vbscript or batch files? Thanks, chris

Simple example of decoding streaming audio realtime?
Hi, I'm new to Speex and a little uncomfortable in C programming. I'm looking for a simple example of how I'd use Speex to decode a speex file read off of an network stream and pass the decoded samples to an audio player. I have speex running in an iPhone project and I started digging thru the speexdec.c example trying to refactor as I made sense of the API calls. The example is a
