specifying elliptic curve
Hi, I've noticed that Dovecot is using per default the elliptic curve sect571r1. Because not all clients might support sect571r1, I would like to set the elliptic curve manually. Is that possible? -Ihsan -- ihsan at dogan.ch http://blog.dogan.ch/

gnls
Doug, I have been attempting to learn a little bit about nlme without too much documentation except the online help. The Latex file in the nlme directory looks interesting but uses packages that I do not have so that I have not been able to read it. I have run the example from gnls to compare it with the results I get from my libraries (code below - I have not included output as it is rather

Source code patch (for 6.6p1) adding support for Brainpool Elliptic Curves
Dear all, ? maybe it is a little early but the next (stable) version of OpenSSL will support Brainpool Ellptic curves (current beta 1.0.2-beta1 contains support for Brainpool already). Brainpool curves are defined in RFC 5639. ? Please find attached a patch file that adds support for Brainpool Elliptic Curves in OpenSSH. Currently, setting the bit size to 256, 384 or 521 selects one of the

which zip file is the emulator package?
Hi. I'm trying to run the elliptic package on my computer (windows platform, version 2.7.2). I downloaded the elliptic package zip file from http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/R/CRAN/ and installed it, but it says that it needs the "emulator" package. Can you tell me where to download this? The only similar package by name is 'emu_4.0.zip' which is not 'emulator.' I also

pop3-login core dump when using TLSSTART on version dovecot-2.2.32 (OPEN)
Hi, Pop3-login are CORE-dumping when I log on with TLSSTART, I believe the same will happen with imap-logon to, but I have not tested it yet. The TLS session is coming up and it works fine until I log off, then it's core dump. Open sslvesrion is openssl-1.0.2k. We ran dovecot-2.2.27 before we upgraded to dovecote-2.2.32, and that seems to work fine. (not core dumping) Arvid LOG Sep 05

new package: elliptic
Hi I recently uploaded package "elliptic" to CRAN. From the DESCRIPTION file, it is: A suite of elliptic and related functions including Weierstrass and Jacobi forms. elliptic functions
Hi List I'm thinking of putting together some R functionality (maybe a package) of elliptic functions. An elliptic function is one that is doubly periodic on the complex plane and I think they are cool. One objective of mine is to reproduce Abramowitz and Stegun's beautiful diagram on p643 (figure 18.5). The gsl package does sn, cn, dn et seq, but before I put a huge amount of

2 D density plot interpretation and manipulating the data
> My understanding is that this represents bivariate normal > approximation of the data which uses the kernel density function to > test for inclusion within a level set. (please correct me) You can fit a bivariate normal distribution by computing five parameters. Two means, two standard deviations (or two variances) and one correlation (or covariance) coefficient. The bivariate normal

Elliptic curve on Centos 6.x

rgl: cylinder3d() with elliptical cross-section
For a paper dealing with generalized ellipsoids, I want to illustrate in 3D an ellipsoid that is unbounded in one dimension, having the shape of an infinite cylinder along, say, z, but whose cross-section in (x,y) is an ellipse, say, given by the 2x2 matrix cov(x,y). I've looked at rgl:::cylinder3d, but don't see any way to make it accomplish this. Does anyone have any ideas? thx,

2 D density plot interpretation and manipulating the data
I recommend that you consult with a local statistical expert. Much of what you say (outliers?!?) seems to make little sense, and your statistical knowledge seems minimal. Perhaps more to the point, none of your questions can be properly answered without subject matter context, which this list is not designed to provide. That's why I believe you need local expertise. Elliptic curves in tinc
In the past 24 hours multiple persons have contacted me regarding the use of elliptic curve cryptography in tinc 1.1 in light of the suspicion that the NSA might have weakened algorithms and/or elliptic curves published by NIST. The new protocol in tinc 1.1 (SPTPS) uses ECDH and ECDSA to do session key exchange and authentication, in such a way that it has the perfect forward secrecy (PFS)

2 D density plot interpretation and manipulating the data
Hi Abby, thank you for getting back to me and for this useful information. I'm trying to detect the outliers in my distribution based of mean and variance. Can I see that from the plot I provided? Would outliers be outside of ellipses? If so how do I extract those from my data frame, based on which parameter? So I am trying to connect outliers based on what the plot is showing: s <-

2 D density plot interpretation and manipulating the data
Hi Bert, Another confrontational response from you... You might have noticed that I use the word "outlier" carefully in this post and only in relation to the plotted ellipses. I do not know the underlying algorithm of geom_density_2d() and therefore I am having an issue of how to interpret the plot. I was hoping someone here knows that and can help me. MS executables for my libraries
An executable version 0.6 of my libraries is now available at www.luc.ac.be/~jlindsey/rcode.html This works with MS R0.64.2 and appears possibly to work with R65.0. There is a serious problem with the Fortran compiler as some of the examples for elliptic and carma crash it. These same examples do not crash R63.0 with the library executables of Jan 99. I am releasing this anyway because of the

2 D density plot interpretation and manipulating the data
You could assign a density value to each point. Maybe you've done that already...? Then trim the lowest n (number of) data points Or trim the lowest p (proportion of) data points. e.g. Remove the data points with the 20 lowest density values. Or remove the data points with the lowest 5% of density values. I'll let you decide whether that is a good idea or a bad idea. And if it's a
