Errors using WINE with certain programs
So far I have tried using 4 programs with WINE so far and I have not been able to get any of them to work right. An Emulator program kept blinking, a small desktop application called "catwalk" also was blinking. It took me a while to get those programs closed because of the blinking. I also tried installing the Windows Version of TrueCrypt. It had an error on install. Files were

Playonline needs 32-bit true color
I installed playonline under WINE on Ubuntu. It installed without any problem, and when I went to load it up it even starts to open up like it would in windows. But then an error appeared: _______ Error Code = 20008027 Can only be displayed properly in 32-bit true color. Start Playonline viewer anyway? _______ If I click no, it closes. How do I get WINE to see a mounted disc image as a CD?
I prefer to run games that require CDs from image files, since it is faster and protects the life of my CDs. In windows, I would just mount the disc image and I could then play. But using Wine and Ubuntu, it appears to work differently. When installing a Windows CD using WINE under Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, how should I go about mounting a disc image so it is seen by games running under WINE as a CD?

Question about running SecuROM under WINE
I am new to WINE, and Unix-based systems in General. Apparently, because of where it installed itself, it interfered with other programs and now I can't get anything to work right. So I switched to Ubuntu 8.10 for 64-bit

Is there a key-combination to close a WINE program?
I have a significant problem running WINE with some programs. WINE will appear to run them just fine, but there will be this "Blinking" when I try to access the menus which make it hard to close. In one case, it also changed resolution so when I used alt-tab I had ALLOT of trouble getting back into it. I know I can use the terminal to type Code: $ wine taskmgr But when I program is

Error using command prompt
I am using Dev-C++ under WINE and Ubuntu as I am not yet familiar with Ubuntu enough to study C without a simple compiler I am used to. It installed ok, and compiled .exe files ok, but when it came to run those programs I had a problem. The first was that, normally, when I would run an executable written to use the windows command prompt, the command prompt wouldn't appear. Now, I make sure
