features of save and save.image (unexpected file sizes)
Hi,
Today I came upon unexpected R behaviour. I did some modelling and the
result was R object, about 28MB size (nested list, with matrixes as
list elements). When I was saving the session with save.image, the
resulting .RData file was 300MB. There were no other large objects:

No

Saving a plot in R-LINUX
Good day,
Is there any way to save a plot produced by
R in a LINUX (Debian) machine?
The window opened by R to put the plot in,
does not give any option to save it (there
are options to move, close, minimise it, etc.
but not to save it). How do you do that?
Thanks,
Augusto

for loop and if problem
Hi,
I'm heaving difficulties with a dataset containing gene names and positions
of those genes.
Not such a big problem, but each gene has multiple exons so it's hard to say
where de gene starts and where it ends. I want the starting and ending
position of each gene in my dataset.
Attached is the dataset:

Running wine from php pages with "Xvfb" not fix yet
Thanks for your reply before
I tried your solution, but my problem not fix yet.
Maybe I missundertand about:
- What is startup script do you mean? Is it not ".bash_profile" that located
on my home user folder (/home/takeda)? If I false, please show me the file
and where the folder located. While I trying your solution, I embedded

calculating recursive sequences
Hi,
I was trying to repeat the estimation of threshold GARCH models from
the book "Analysis of Financial Time Series" by Ruey S. Tsay, and I
was succesfull, but I had to use "for" loop, which is quite slow. The
loop is necessary, since you need to calculate recursive sequence. Is
there a faster way to do this in R, without using loops?
The model is such:
r_t = \mu + \alpha_2

Maximum number of concurrent calls
Hi,
I remember reading that Asterisk allows only 100 simultaneous calls. Is
that correct?
If it is so, how is it possible to have a conference call with more then
100 users? I think I read here that some people managed to have 500
people in a conf room...
Or, how do I increase this limit? Is it as easy as changing a value in a
config.h?
Thanks for your help,

MeetMe and usernum
hi,
I am trying to get the usernum of a user when dialing in to a MeetMe
conference. Is there somehow a possibility to save the usernum of a
MeetMe participant into a variable? Everything should be done through
the DialPlan, no manager and no *cli.
Thanks for your help,

optim error
Dear all,
There have been one or two questions posted to the list regarding the optim
error "non-finite finite-difference value [4]." The error apparently means
that the 4th element of the gradient is non-finite. My question is what
part(s) of my program should I fiddle with in an attempt to fix it?
Starting values? Something in the log-likelihood itself? Perhaps the data

x320, x80. Entonces me da este error:
Error in eval(predvars, data, env) : object 'pot24' not found.

Hola, amigos
Se me acabo la sapienza. A ver:
tengo y hago:
$ script.py arg1 arg arg3
Funciona perfecto.
dir <- getwd()
setwd('data/row/directoriocondatos/')

Hi,
This is really a feature request, not a bug. I wrote the mail to R-devel,
but nobody answered it.
I use Gnome on my computer and sometimes I use its default text editor
gedit. It uses gtksourceview library for syntax highlighting. I
decided that it would be nice if gedit supported R

Voicemail feature: enable or disable the ability to leave a message
Hi,
I think there is an essential option of the Voicemail application that
is missing.
I would like to suggest the implementation of a function to give the
user the ability to either allow or disallow the recording of messages.
If the ability to record a message is disabled, options u, s, and b must
not be considered in order to avoid the playback of messages such as

How to create a chromosome location map by locus ID
Hi,
I'm trying to make a chromosomal map in R by using the locus. I have a list
of genes and their locus, and I want to visualise that so you can see if
there are multiple genes on a specific place on a chromosome. A example of
what I more or less want is below:

The genes and locus are here:
