Does anyone have any experience using a zip drive as a read-only medium for storing things like tripwire files, PGP signed keys and kernels? At the moment I'm installing world of warcraft, which has 5 disks and the expansion which has another 4 disks. Now it works nicely, until the installation program asks me for disk 2. On windows it ejects automatically, but here it doesn't. It doesn't even eject when i try using the konsole command ( wine eject ). If I do that, the program says ( Cannot open device for drive e: ). It's quite annoying, because I can't install, and i have to cancel it to get the CD out of the driver....

Latest wine, ubuntu 9.04 I'm trying to install Tron 2.0, but, when it asks for the second CD, wine eject fails. It takes the command, but doesn't seem to actually do anything. Outside of the installer, though, wine eject does work. I've tried launching the installer all of the different ways listed in the FAQ also; all wouldn't work. Is there some fix for this, or a way to do it manually?...

Hi. I've tried to find this solution and have not been successful. Never used wine before and am just getting into Linux. Opensuse 10.3. Wine is installed. Using Wine-door. I have an application that has 2 CD's. the first CD installs then asks for the 2nd CD. Unable to eject the first cd. Get error message media is busy and can't eject. I have created my own install DVD with a custom kickstart file and modified the isolinux.cfg file to allow the system to boot off of the hard disk as the default mode. It will also use my kickstart file if I select it. Now I would like to make the system not eject the DVD after reboot. The machines I am installing on do not have a motorized tray that can automatically pull the DVD back in when a mount command is issued. You have to push the disk in manually. As these machines will be unattended that is not idea. How can I prevent the installer from ejecting...

I have nexus - the juptiter indcident running an installer. I use the nexus wiki info on "wine eject". Nothing happens when I try to eject it. I have to use "eject -m" to force the cd drive to open. Now, it won't mount the next cd in line. Need help here.

Just installed winxp in HVM under Suse 10.2. Now, I cannot access the CDROM drive even though it worked fine during the installation. Windows exploer show it as D drive, but when I put in a data CDROM, it keeps asking to install cdrom. Device manager shows the CDROM as QEMMU CDROM drive. Any suggestions? ...m trying to install BGII but the installshield, when reaches about 78%, asks me for the cd2: I give the directory path and immediately it asks for cd 3,4,5. Naturally i can't provide cd 5 because BGII is a 4cds game. I've tried to upgrade installshield with no result. Hi I've FS9 on another NTFS partition but get errors for starting. So now I tried to install but how do i change the disk FS1 to FS2? if i kill wine setup.exe I can exchange the discs but cklicking on insert discs2 does not continue the installation. Thanks Michael ( suse 10.2 )
