option 'auth users' in rsyncd.conf
Hi there,
this is my first posting to this list, so let me quickly introduce
myself. I'm Alex and currently working on a new version of the rsync
package for the eisfair Linux distribution?.
I have some problems understanding the behaviour of the 'auth users'
option in the rsyncd.conf file when running rsync in daemon mode. I set
up a module and a secrets file. This is the behaviour I came across:
Setting 'auth users = alice bob', 'auth users...

domU networking problem
Hello,
I have a xen server (xen-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_32 hvm-3.0-x86_32p /
kernel 2.6.24-28-xen).
I have some domUs, one of them is a fli4l router, the others are
eisfair domUs (fileserver, webserver and mailserver). All of the domUs
are connected via vif network interface with a bridge in dom0.
There is a problem invoking following command in every domU:

After some minutes the command stops with an ssl...

I saw this Problem also with Samba 2.2.7(?) compiled on a SuSE system
running on the system of www.eisfair.org. I had to compile samba direct on
the
eisfair system to eleminate this error.
Is there any chance to negotiate nessesary parameters at running time and
not at compile time?

3.0.9 and macro %f
Hi,
samba 3.0.9 cannot expand %f anymore:
Sending a netbios message to the samba server himself
test2 # echo test | /usr/bin/smbclient -U 'eisfair Samba Server on
TEST2' -M TEST2 -I 192.168.0.6
Connected. Type your message, ending it with a Control-D
sent 6 bytes
From smb.conf:
message command = /bin/mail -s 'message from %f' root < %s; rm %s
And this is the mail (see Subjekt):

rsync server bootscript - stop and status considerations
Hello :-)
I want to create a boot/shutdown script including the usual restart, start,
status and stop options (on Slackware64 13.1). Netsearching for prior art,
I did not find any comprehensive examples. The normal technique seems to be
to kill the process recorded in the PID file (let's call it the daemon) but
this does not terminate all the rsync server processes.

Nut v2.7.3 - how to force shutdown for a specifc ups only
...Have I missed some specific information in the
documentation or has indeed no-one requested this kind of feature
before?
I wasn't able to find an answer for this question on the Internet, so
I hope that someone on this mailing list could answer my question.
Thanks

NUT support for APC BackUPS Pro 900VA
...perly. If someone could give me a hint how I need
to configure nut, I would appreciate it.
Just to mention, Nut is already working with older SmartUPS devices
without any problems. So it isn't a general but a device specific problem.
Thank you in advance!

'max_four_gig' parameter to normalize to 4GB
...# dfree /dev/hda4
5913931 5913719
This should be a free space of
5913719 / 1024 / 1024 = 5,63976192474365234375 GB
W2K, XP, Win9x/Me only showing 3,96 GB - I don't know why.
With the same Kernelversion, a newer Samba-Version (2.2.5) and the same
dfree command there are correct outputs (www.eisfair.org).
I searched the net for a solution and found Samba cvs messages like
this:
***
smbd/dfree.c: Added 'max_four_gig' parameter to normalize to 4GB when
asked
(used to be the default).
