error in for loop in function (object not found)
Hi all, I have attached the function file (revisedfunction) and the list
of station IDs (StationIDs) in .pdf format.
I have written a function to perform various operations on the station
IDs in two groups. The first 6 station IDs require one less step than
the remaining 68 station IDs. The file referenced at the beginning of
the function is the file containing the StationIDs.

Finding center of mass in a hydrologic time series
Eric B's response provided just the kind of quick & simple solution I was
hoping for (appears as the function com below). However, I once again
failed to take advantage of the power of R and have reverted back to using
a for loop for the next step of the processing. The example below (which
requires the library EGRET for pulling an example dataset) works, but
probably can be replaced

just the last set of messages which caused it to die. There were many
more through out the file but they didn't hit the magic ten

multiple plots and looping assistance requested (revised codes)
Hi Irucka,
I tried it and was able to plot it without any errors.? Here, your code indicates you need two lines. temper[[i]][1]
?temper[[1]][1] # which is the column 1.

Suppose I use names(temper) instead of seq_along(temper)

Hi Arun, thank-you very much! The 2nd option worked perfectly. That was
what I wanted.
Now, I have another question. I am using the R packages dataRetrieval
and EGRET from https://github.com/USGS-CIDA/WRTDS.
I have 2 objects Daily and Sample that have the naming convention (Names

that I need to have after running

Finding center of mass in a hydrologic time series
Hi Eric,
How about
match( TRUE, cumsum(hyd/sum(hyd)) > .5 ) - 1

Finding center of mass in a hydrologic time series
The small bit of script below is an example of what I'm attempting to do -
find the day on which the 'center of mass' occurs. In case that is the
wrong term, I'd like to know the day that essentially cuts the area under
the curve in to two equal parts:
set.seed(4004)
Date <- seq(as.Date('2000-09-01'), as.Date('2000-09-30'), by='day')

Dear R users,
I am trying to draw error bars in a bar plot, I use this code (tried many others which did not work):
install.packages()
library(gplots)
y <-c(39.02, 46.42)
se <- c(7.57,7.35)
plot <- barplot(y, beside=TRUE, col=0, ylim=c(0,47), axis.lty=1, main="far-red", xlab="latitude", names.arg=c("56N", "68N"))
superpose.eb(plot, y, se,

Hi, I'm trying to use the function "error.bars", but the program don't
find it, and I dont't found any package with this function. Is there some
another functin to draw barplots with error bars?

Switching from webrick to mongrel
I got tired of restarting my puppetmaster when it stopped responding and
finally switched to mongrel last night.
When running under mongrel, what sort of concurrent connection rates are
people able to get? I dont know how many individual puppetmaster
processes I should spawn, or how to tell when I should span more.
Perhaps I need more than two, because this morning I had a look at how
