Eggcups printer icon not showing up in panel
I did a "side grade" on a client's machine freom FC2 to Centos4.2. I am not seeing the eggcups printer icon appear when the user sends a print job. One problem was that I had to copy /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession.rpmnew into place so that the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable got set correctly. The messagebus service is running, as well as hal. There is a notification area in the panel. I can...

hi all, Just wondering how starts the process eggcups? I have done a "service cups stop" but eggcups is still running. I then do "chkconfig cups off" and reboot and its still running. How do I stop it from running? Thanks, Jerry

INIT 5 and system is gone
I had been running a system on Centos 5.1 at INIT 3. I did the upgrade to Centos 5.2 with the aid of the powernowk8 patch. Previously I would VNC into the unit when I needed to do admin stuff with a GUI. Well I noticed that I was NOT getting GNOME via VNC since the upgrade (worked before just fine with 5.1). So I tried an INIT 5 from the command line (always worked before), but the system

Memory usage bar plot
Hi, I haven't tried the code yet. Is there a way to parse this data using R and create bar plots so that each program's 'RAM used' figures are grouped together. So 'uuidd' bars will be together. The data will have about 50 sets. So if there are 100 processes each will have about 50 bars. What is the recommended way to graph these big barplots ? I am looking

Problem with xen on Centos-4.4?
I am running a Xen installation on a Centos-4.4 based test box, my desktop unit, and I am having intermittent problems installing certain pieces of software. Some time back I posted to this list regarding my inability to install Adobe Acrobat on this unit and was advised to essentially repackage the software and try again. This is beyond my present means of knowledge or time to acquire same and
