newbie install question
I have an ASUS eePC with the default linux installation (Xandros I believe). I would like to install wine to run a custom application. However, I can not figure out which version of wine to download. Will any of them work? If not which one should I use? Thanks for any and all help.

ASUS Eee R cookbook
...nd in a few seconds I was online. It also has wireless and even yer old bleep-buzz modem options. You may be able to run R on the Easy Desktop, but I went straight to the Full Desktop (KDE). There is an excellent description of how to download the necessary files and enable KDE at: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:getkde This gives you what most people who use Linux are used to (you can apparently enable GNOME, too). Now for the fun. I wasn't able to compile R from source as gcc wouldn't go. I'll let you know if I get it working. As in setting up KDE, you have to add a repository....

The only thing I wish I were able to do now is to have the graphics windows defaults change...

I consider myself as secondary equipment one eeePC 900 to add (here in Germany unfortunately at present only with Windows at this time). Did someone already gain experiences with one of the predecessor models here? sincerly Henrik

Which Linux system to download?
Hey all, I'm from England and recently all of the 6th form students at my school was given a laptop for studies, meaning I got one. The thing is it's Linux so I'm having trouble opening a .exe Thankfully I came across Wine but the thing is I'm not sure what Linux system the laptop runs on. Here's a link to the laptop:
