Hello to all, I am running samba 4.3.4 on centos 6 and I recognized that new windows 10 clients do not register dns . Windows 8.1 and below do with no issue. Do I have to configure something special in my smb.conf? hi list, i experienced a weird behaviour of samba in the latest versions (3.0.20[a,b]) on XFS: directory: /data (owner=iso,group=edv) permissions: 2770 if i put a file in there with permissions 644 (owner=root,group=edv) i cannot delete it. windows tells even tells me, that it's readonly (read only bit set). and that's the only difference: 3.0.14a doesn't show the file as read only. filer:/usr/local/samba/sbin #...

hi, i use samba 2.2.8a on a share i wanted to use the audit.so and recycle.so modules. in my smb.conf i added the following share [dir] comment = dir valid users = @edv writeable = yes create mode = 777 path = /data/ directory mode = 777 vfs object = /usr/lib/samba/vfs/audit.so vfs object = /usr/lib/samba/vfs/recycle.so vfs options = /etc/samba/recycle.conf with this config the recycle bin is running but there are no audit information logged in the messages file....
