sdate<-as.POSIXct(strptime(date,format="%m/%d/%Y %H:%M"))
Newbie here~ I've spent a ton of time on this, but have to admit I am stuck. I've tried various combinations of strptime and the package CHRON, but still can't get there. My simple task is that I want to plot salinity (S1 or S2) on y-axis and time on x-axis, but I want to use a lay-understandable representation of time (not Julian). If I use the following command, I can make a

Mailboxes not showing up in MS Outlook
Sat, 19 Jul 2014 15:03:03 -0400 I am not sure exactly where the problem is here. I am using a sieve script that sorts various incoming messages into their own mailbox. MS Outlook does not show those folders if they are not directly under INBOX. EXAMPLE: drwx------ 31 vmail vmail 1.0K 2014-07-19 14:46:55 EDT ./ drwx------ 3 vmail vmail 512B 2014-07-02 13:52:03 EDT ../ drwx------ 5

Dates - week and year not day.
Hi, I would be very grateful for some advice. I have read the help pages for Date, strptime, etc. All examples seem to use some version of day month year as date format. However I have Weekly composite data so ONLY want to input the dates as Week.Year (eg 35.2011). strptime seems to show this is possible using %W for week (UK convention) and %Y for year. My data is in a df called chlorophyll and

Samba Replication problem between two DCs

Timezone and date
When I do the date +%Z I get the timezone. Which currently is EDT. I am sending information to another system, that says EDT is not a valid timezone. I have no way to modify the other system. My question is - is there a way to get the non-day-lite savings time zone ? For example EST is valid - EDT is not. Just curious if there is an easy way already present to get a standard time zone. Thanks,

puzzled by math on date-time objects
Hi, I don't understand the following. When I create a small artificial set of date information in class POSIXct, I can calculate the mean and the median: a = as.POSIXct(Sys.time()) a = a + 60*0:10; a [1] "2009-03-10 11:30:16 EDT" "2009-03-10 11:31:16 EDT" "2009-03-10 11:32:16 EDT" [4] "2009-03-10 11:33:16 EDT" "2009-03-10 11:34:16

CentOS 6.6 x86_64, rpm error: rpmdbNextIterator: skipping h# ...
Hi All, I had some health issues for a few months and I barely recall dealing with Heartbleed ... it's all just a blur. Now I'm getting back up to speed, but I have a pair of CentOS 6.6 x86_64 + Virtualmin 4.13 GPL servers which no longer seem to be picking up available updates. 'yum check' ran for about 25 minutes this evening on one of them and returned nothing useful. rpm -qa

Hello all. I''m new to Rails and working on replacing an existing Perl based app. Everything has been smooth, and I''m beginning to get the hang of things. I just implemented DB based photo handling, with code directly from the Pragmatic Rails book. Here''s a fresh server log of my app, with a logged in user (by cookie and session) getting a list of his photos. The

I have two collections of dates and I want to figure out what dates they have in common. This is not giving me what I want (I don't know what it is giving me). What is the best way to do this? Clustering - Avoiding "dead" processes?
I have Mongrel Cluster setup with Apache a mod_proxy_balancer. I''ve seen (from time to time) mongrel instances become non-responsive. Is there anyway to configure the balancer so that it "knows" which processes are no longer good and stops trying to use them? _______________________________________________________ The FREE service that prevents junk email

time zone conversion
Hello, I'm trying to convert times in the EST/EDT (New York) format to times in the GMT/BST (London) and UTC+9 format (Tokyo). That is, if I know what time it is in New York, what is local time in London and Tokyo? Ex: Here's the conversion from New York EST/EDT time to London's GMT/BST time zone for three days in 2007. Note that the US and London change to daylight savings on

Excessive allocations from RID master
I have a script that is adding about 16,000 users to my domain. While monitoring the script, I noticed that as soon as a user is added, 500 additional RID's are allocated from the RID Master Please see below the output of the "CN=RID Manager$,CN=System" and "CN=RID Set,CN=DC1,OU=Domain Controllers" containers between each user-add As you can see, in "CN=RID
