[ADV] New book: The Accessible Web
...;'t just a question of being a good citizen, or of meeting the increasing demands of legislation. It''s also about effectively communicating with a very large segment of your user base. Accessibility is often presented as being complex and confusing. Guidelines are published as edicts, carved in stone tablets that must be followed without question. That''s not very pragmatic. Because you are a real developer with a real projects to ship, you need to learn how to make content accessible, using accessibility guidelines as just that—guidelines. With this book, you...

Monolithic is trying to solve the wrong problem - it's that simple. Any discussion or attempt to coddle those who think it's necessary is a waste of time. #dictator As part of any potential migration, everyone involved must start to accept certain changes, (large or small) to the workflow. The big challenge here isn't technical, it's mindset. It's convincing any group of

Users created in last few years cannot login after 4.7 -> 4.8 + winbind
It appears there is still misunderstanding about my situation/setup. Sorry, I know this is strange. I have an LDAP server for my Linux infrastructure that is totally seperate from the corporate AD Windows domain. At one point my LDAP did have the samba schema installed with my its own SID's and smbpasswd's in it. My web app for users to change their Linux password would on the backend

RMySQL LoadLibrary failure: Invalid access to memory location.
Hi. A colleague of mine figured out how to get the RMySQL 0.6 package to load properly in our environment with MySQL 5.0.45. Every time I tried to load the RMySQL library in R 2.5.1 I was getting an error message: LoadLibrary failure: Invalid access to memory location. We did the following: First obtain RMySQL 0.5-7, which can be found at

I think that is fair to say about my old accounts where names and IDs do not match. But the crazy thing is it is those accounts which work fine and it is the new accounts where I did make the names and IDs match where things do not work! I am still confused about the supplemental groups thing. Are you saying Samba will not support a mode where 'security = ads' for authentication against

Hi, I need to setup a new mail server and before I got my feet wet or losing in the configurations jungle, I really need some advice from the gurus here for what the best software to used for the mailserver base on CentOS 4.x setup. The objective is, the mailserver will be easy to setup, maintained and have some 1. database backend for storing user info ( mysql? ) 2. spam and antivirus
