...not be used in mcnemar.test because it is not a square table and does not have enough rows and columns. Is there some way to specify that R should count the occurrences of D, F, and T even though they do not appear in the Data? Or some easy way to add the missing columns? Thank you, Jeffrey Edgington

Randomization tests, grouped data
The other day I was looking into one of the classics in resampling, Eugene Edgington's "Randomization Tests". This type of test is simple to do in R with things like a simple correlation, the sample () function is perfect for the purpose. However, things are more complex if you have grouped data, like a one-way ANOVA. The reason is that you have to avoid the con...

Permutation test, grouped data
...t I want in other ways, so ... What I am looking for are two algorithms, preferabley in Pascal, but other languages may do. For (a) systematic (complete) permutations for grouped data with unequal group sizes, and (b) random permutations for the same kind of data. I know of one source: E. S. Edgington (1980): Randomization Tests (program 4.1 and program 4.3), but those are written in Fortran with a lot of GO TO's which probably would not be very efficient even if I managed to manually these programs and do a correct translation. There must be some more modern ones around, but where? I...

Permutation test and R2 problem
Hi, I have optimized the shrinkage parameter (GCV)for ridge and got my r2 value is 70% . to check the sensitivity of the result, I did permutation test. I permuted the response vector and run for 1000 times and draw a distribution. But now, I get r2 values highest 98% and some of them more than 70 %. Is it expected from such type of test? *I was under impression that, r2 with real data set

reference on permutation test
I want learn permutation test and resampleing, etc. There are a few references listed below. I'm wondering what is the best book on this topic. Can somebody give me some advice. Thank you! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resampling_%28statistics%29#Permutation_test

Coloring subsets of points of a strip chart by quantiles
Hello All, I am trying to color five subsets of points in a series of vertical strip charts by quintiles using the quantile function, but I have not been able to do this successfully, nor have I been able to find an example of this online. I would like to have the "E1", "E2", and "E3" columns plotted on a single plot (containing the three strip charts). I am
