Unable to connect to other nodes in the network
I'm having trouble with tinc on Android 10, (it's not a problem within the app, I have already discussed this over with pacien). All subnets and routes are properly configured. (I've included them just so people can better visualise the config and triple check everything is correct My phone will not connect to any other node than the first one configured with `ConnectTo` in the

Obtain public key
...ub key that I ask, writing some docs for an internal network. Ah interesting, I finally found openssl does not have the 25519 curve in there(and no plans to do so looks like) but I was not aware there was non standard priv key format either. Would it make sense for the tinc -n <netname> get Ed25519PublicKey To have some logic to derive the pub key it if it's not already in the hosts file? Just to avoid adding another command to the tinc CLI. On Wed Jan 14 2015 at 2:00:47 PM Guus Sliepen <guus at tinc-vpn.org> wrote: > On Wed, Jan 14, 2015 at 12:28:00PM +0000, Martin wrote: > > &g...

Obtain public key
Is there any way to obtain the public key from the private key? I know it's in host file however for the purpose of this message I need to be able to generate it on the command line. I tried openssl ec < ed25519_key.priv I get an error read EC key unable to load Key 140092556813984:error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line:pem_lib.c:703:Expecting: ANY PRIVATE KEY

1.0 or 1.1pre?
I have about 15 nodes running 1.1pre15 connected and running quite well. I don't remember why I installed 1.1preX originally. Possibly because I added a router with custom firmware to the network (Tomato Shibby firmware for my ASUS router) which included 1.1pre14. Now I'm trying to add an Openwrt device and it includes 1.0.33 only. This will replace the Tomato Shibby device with

Public key sharing between nodes
...dows/linux machines connecting to it outside NAT) it appears B/C/... nodes eventually acquire host files through A, maybe when they need to establish a metaconnection with each other? It also seems once the host file is transferred, it stays that way. That is, if I was to change on supernode A the Ed25519PublicKey stored in hosts of B (doing so as well locally on B) then C and other remote nodes would be stuck with the old host file and public key rather than transfer the updated file, causing remote connections to B to be refused. To summarize it looks like: 1. You need to be on another machine for key exc...

Windows tinc network no data despite tinc connection
...ough, telnetting public ip port 655 the daemon answers. On my notebook running Windows 10 I also have tinc 1.1pre14 running. The server is configured as follows: --- tinc.conf --- Name = serverwin Interface = VPN --- hosts\client --- -----BEGIN RSA PUBLIC KEY----- xxx -----END RSA PUBLIC KEY----- Ed25519PublicKey = yyy --- tap/tun --- The virtual network adapter is named VPN and configured for IP 10.42.100.3, subnet 255.255.0.0. Obtain public key
...25519_key.priv is also not a standard format. The public key can be extracted from it though, I'll add an option to the tinc CLI to do this, just in case someone accidentily deletes the public key. However, you can already use the CLI to extract your own public key: tinc -n <netname> get Ed25519PublicKey -- Met vriendelijke groet / with kind regards, Guus Sliepen <guus at tinc-vpn.org> -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Just to avoid adding another command to the tinc CLI. Adding another command is easy. Actually, I'm thinking of adding a "fsck" or "check" command that checks whether ever...

Multiple entry node support
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 I'm trying to make a VPN network with the help of my friends. Tinc seems to support multiple connect to options, but isn't it tricky? Will it cause unsynchronized hosts etc? Will the 1.1 invite support it? PS: every nodes are not 24/7 on, maybe a node will be online but another not. - -- Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail. Tinc process fails if one of the hosts is provided with the wronk key (human error)
As per title I've noticed my tinc network was down today. After a brief investigation I discovered the process had just failed on the devices of interest. What was it changed from the day before? I've added a new host to the network. Due to a human error I copied the wrong Ed25519PublicKey into the devices in question. Checking the logs I can see an extensive attempt to connect to the new host was made and eventually the tinc process was terminated. 1.1pre16 multiple address behavior
Hello all, I recently upgraded my Windows 10 installation from 1.1pre15 to 1.1pre16 and it appears that hosts with multiple address are behaving differently. My host file looks like this: -----BEGIN RSA PUBLIC KEY----- ... -----END RSA PUBLIC KEY----- Ed25519PublicKey = ... Subnet = ... Address = ...LAN_IP... Address = ...WAN_IP... In 1.1pre15 eventually my machine would establish a meta-connection to the WAN IP, but after the upgrade my log looks like this: Timeout while connecting to remoteness (LAN_IP port 655) Closing connection with remotenes...
