Problem using echolink and wine
Good day all,
I've been trying to make Echolink (a ham radio VOIP application) to
work under wine. The application currently fires up and runs just
fine. Heck it can even control my radio via the serial port (most
impressive). However i'm having no luck getting my line-in sound input
on the PC to be picked up by Echolink. Let me expl...

Ham Radio s/w and CentOS? {including Echolink}
I am going to present Linux to my ham radio club at some point in the next few
months, and wanted to collect info on ham radio software, including options for
echolink. Our repeater has an echolink connection, thus if I present the
software available for it, it might perk up people's interests more.
It would also be very helpful if the echlink applications offered
proxy/firewall options so people at companies or at home that have networks
that implement...

wine 1.1.4 and 2nd soundcard (alsa)
Moin,
I am using a kind of VoIP Software (Echolink) that run perfekt with the build
in soundcard. But I want to use my headset, that appears as soundcard 1
(hw:1.0).
I can choose the soundcard in Echolink (default, external and system default),
but this goes to the build in card independent from this setting.
Can I configure wine to use the...

My Computer
Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion p2 1033wb. I has a 3 core Vision AMD E-300 Processor Dual Core runs at 3.2 GHZ. CentOS will run ok with this processor won't it Echolink told me I would have no problem running there program with it. Probably a dumb question but just checking.
Thanks,

It sorta runs ,
I have the C drive pointed to the win directory off my home dir thats used by win4lin, I know it can
see this as the fonts are OK.
I can only get regedit and notepad to run from the menubar, plus the old problem of not finding c:\
and running a VOIP prog called echolink which runs well in the Feb release now fails when a scroll
bar is used with the following

Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like
IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from
being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package
can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim
Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already.

FRS / FRS/GMRS 2-way radios as SIP clients
Any one know of software that allows 2-way radios as VoIP(SIP) clients,
besides dingotel's usb & mic cable trick ?
http://www.dingotel.com/2way/requirements2way.asp
They might be ok if the SIP client was not hardcode to their own SIP proxy
Has anyone tried any hacks to get the 2-way radio SIP client to regsiter to
a * box.
hmm chan_frsgmfrs anyone? using the usb/mic cable under linux :)
