cant see cups print queues via samba.
It is possible to see the print queue and via NT4's printer window.
Correct? And remove the jobs too, right? But not for me.
cups-1.0.5, samba-2.07 on linux-2.2.15
queues show ok using lpq
printing from nt works ok using samba.
in smb.conf I have:
printing = cups
print command = lpr -P%p -s %s; rm %s
lpq command = /usr/local/bin/lpq -P %p
lprm command = /usr/local/bin/lprm -P %p %j

Where to find the CUPS-SAMBA client drivers for Win2K/XP?
...my samba server cooperated with CUPS to provide network printing.
I want to download the "CUPS 1.1.x Windows NT/200x/XP Printer Driver for Samba",
however now I cannot find out where such drivers are.
I cannot download it neither from http://www.cups.org/software.php
nor from http://www.easysw.com/software.php
I also searched on google but couldn't find out something helpful.
Could you please tell me where to get such drivers now?
Thanks!
Best Regards,
Frank

Driver download problem (still)...
I've gotten driver-downloads to work from WinNT/2K clients, but I still
can't seem to figure out how to get things to work with Win9x clients.
Here's a copy of my smb.conf file:

printing = lprng
printcap name = /etc/printcap
log level = 1
load printers = no
guest account = nobody

rpcclient man page and "--help"
...ctly
after rpcclient. I.E. "rpcclient server [options]" which doesn't seem
to work because rpcclient does not process any further options after
encountering the host.
Most of the investigation on this was done by Robin Blanchard
(robin_blanchard@gactr.uga.edu) and Mike Sweet (mike@easysw.com) I've
attached a previous E-mail below. We were trying to investigate why the
command "cupsaddsmb" in the cups package wasn't working correctly.

You should install:

in case you don't find pre-compiled binaries)

2.2 release imminent.
Well, as Andrew shouted at me again this weekend it's getting
to be about that time.... :-) :-).
Yep, we're thinking we should do an official 2.2 Samba release
early next week, so if you have anything you can't live
with, now would be a good time to tell us....
:-).
It's been gestating longer than an elephant, so it's really
time to let it out into the world and do its own

Adding printer driver with cupsaddsmb
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi list,
I have a problem adding printer drivers for automatic downloading via
samba for windows 2000 clients.
Under cups I added my printer and copied the Adobe postscript driver
files like mentioned in printer_driver2.html. And when I finally
commit:
cupsaddsmb -v -U root normal (normal is the name of the printer)
And here is the output:

...on of the ADOBE*.DLL|HLP
files for the PostScript driver in "/usr/share/cups/drivers/". ESP PrintPro
has a package called "printpro-samba.tar.gz" which includes and installs
these. If you haven't got it, you may download it from the Easy Software
Products website (http://www.easysw.com/printpro/). The "cupsaddsmb"
command (or the "Export Drivers...") will then write the files into the
[print$] share for the Samba clients as needed.
As of CUPS 1.1.16 (released) and the next ESP PrintPro update you can also
download the free (as in free beer) CUPS PostScri...

cupsaddsmb - problem; once again
Hello,
I posted 2 weeks ago this problem and it is currently not working.
First thanks a lot for all the hints and helps.
In the attached file I have added (hopefully) all informations.
To summarize:
I want to setup a print server, which allows the user to
download the necessary files for new printers.
Installed are (on top of suse 7.1) samba 2.2.6_pre2 and cups 1.1.15_1.
Installed the printers,

so called hybrid mode is possible; see NetBIOS

And for include is to read: Include one config file inside
another. These infos are really raw.
Does anyone know HOW TO setup in more detail ???

Samba-3.0.0-1 tdb_fetch failed
RH9 on intel, with samba-built RH9 samba 3 rpm freshly installed.
I have a raw cups printer which samba picks up, but when a client
connects (root) and selects the host's "printers" folder, a right click
on the printer and properties causes a small delay and then the msgbox:
"Printer Properties could not be displayed, operation could not be
completed."
