Nokia E90 video via Asterisk
Anyone tried the video phone in the Nokia E90 (or any Nokia that supports SIP, I guess) "Normal" Voice oIP via the phone & Wi-Fi is just fine, just wondering about Video oIP. I'm not even sure it's possible - not finding anything via google, etc., but if anyones done it, I'd appreciate knowing! Thanks, Gordon

Softphone to be installed on the Mobile
Hi All; Is there a softphone that can be installed on a mobile (new mobile models), so it can work with Asterisk as following: 1) As SIP or H323 client, with the ability to add button functionalities (call pickup, call transfer, ...) so if there is a wireless network, then it can use it to connect to Asterisk and work as client, but from the Mobile. 2) If there is no wireless network, then it

Not strictly asterisk related, however... Here's an odd one for you.. I got a Nokia E90 and setup it's SIP client which runs via Wi-Fi (anyone know if I can make it work via GPRS/3G?) Anyway, in a fit of idleness, I thought I'd see what codecs it supports, as I couldn't find it in the manual... And it supports: ilbc g729 ulaw/alaw No GSM! How odd is that, g...

HW-Recommendation: cell/mobile phone, capable of WLAN and SIP ??
Hello, is anyone on the list using a normal cell/mobile phone which is able to act as a SIP client over WLAN? Or has anyone heard of a SIP client for cell/mobile phones running windows mobile 6.x? The phone should use SIP, when the asterisk server is reachable and should automatically switch to a German telco if it is not reachable. Thanks for any hints, Stefan --

Hardphone SIP phone costs
I'm trying to understand something that just doesn't seem to compute. How can companies like Cisco justify selling their hard phones for as much as they do? I know there is a matter of recouping R&D costs but when you look at the iPhone with all its amazing features for less than $500.00 it just doesn't make sense. Am I the only one that thinks this? Memory and other settings for xen server, help needed....
Hi all, i have a question. I''m going to setup a Xen server for a client. It''s going to serve about 25 clients. Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT
Anybody care to muse on Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT? My limited research indicates that none of the WiSip phones will ever be able to match the performance of DECT phones. Maybe I'm wrong but a Wi-SIP phone seems like a DIESEL sports car. There is nothing wrong with the technology, but it seems like a shoe-horned fit into the requirements of a wireless endpoint. DECT uses a wireless radio layer

Along the same lines as the last question - how can I get to functions like MakeOpenFile via Win32API? It doesn''t seem to be exported by msvcrt-ruby18. Possible? Or am I out of luck?
