SV: I can hear only one way when I use nokia e-60 withX-lite
Hello Be aware that the Nokia E60, E61 and E70 does not support NAT. Just to be shure that you know that. A clever choice from Nokia, so that users has to have some local equipment from the telco. [OT] wi-fi ip phone scenario
...topic, but I was just wondering... Has anyone ever had any experience with asterisk, a wi-fi meshed lan (with more than one access point) and wi-fi sip phones? I made some tests but I'm not really satisfied.... Wi-fi phones are a curse (as far as I know even Nokia eSeries -I personally own an e70 model- have their flaws): - random sip registration failures - ridiculous battery life - bad audio quality even with optimal radio environments - crashes, system freezes - ... - slow responsiveness to asterisk "qualify" pings (OPTIONS) but I can even live with that. The major problem i...

Dual-home Wifi/GSM phones for North America
So, for the hotel project, what was the conclusion? I don't remember seeing a summary. And were any of the phones combination Wifi/GSM? Like a Nokia E70 or E61i? I've been looking for such a phone to use myself, but so far haven't found one that I liked. Common flaws were: * poor standby time * lousy interface for doing complex configurations (esp. certificate management) * poor external provisioning documentation or requiring propriet...

Bunch of set-up/usage questions (SLA, MWI, SMS proxy's, crypto, Fax, etc)
...es? (3) my PSTN service provider that I have SIP trunking to doesn't provide SMS service (yet or possibly ever)--is there a way to shop-out SMS for my associated numbers from someone else? I eventually hope to have a cell phone with dataplan only that I then do SIP-over-UMTS (like a Nokia E70 or E61i, for instance)... if I'm moving towards having a single number, then I figure text messaging should work regardless of the device I'm using (softphone on a laptop, VoWifi handset, or POE hardphone). Any service/any device, right? That's what it's all about. (4) I have...

OT: Recommendation for EDGE/3GPP SIP phone?
I'm looking to ditch my GSM phone with Cingular and provide my own calling services with Asterisk hanging my phone off the Edge or 3GPP network... Luckily, I have the option (through my employer) of getting a data-only plan. My question is, other than the Nokia E61i or E70, what phones will do SIP-over-EDGE or SIP-over-3GPP? The iPhone doesn't yet have a SIP client, and it's EDGE-only. There are probably knowledgeable folks out there that have tested/used such devices. Bonus points for one that's WIFI capable (I don't think my data plan is &quo...

WiFi Phones (was Looking for Wireless Heaset for Polycom 501)
Martin: I had seen your other post and sent you a message off-list, but I never got a response. What do you feel is the most lacking that does not make it ready for a production enviroment. - I've been using a SIP deskphone in my office and usually some sort of ATA at my house, both as the primary phone. I've also had mobile phones from almost every carrier. Each one of these devices

Asterisk w/ Nokia "e" Series Handsets
Anyone using Nokia "E" Series handsets with Asterisk? I'm trying to deploy some e71's and am having an issue. I can get a single handset working, but when I try to create a SIP profile on the second phone, it won't allow me to save the profile, saying that devices in the same "realm" must have identical username and password. Anyone have a workaround for this

Printing Issues with NT type Clients.
Hi. To begin with, I have a freshly built RedHat Linux 8.0 box running samba 2.2.8a. The kernel version is 2.4.18-14. I downloaded and compiled samba from source. I am using LPRng-3.8.9-6 as my printing system. The attached printer is a Lexmark Z22 printer and it is attached to the parralel port. Problem: For the life of me, I can't get NT type clients, NT4, 2K and XP to print to samba.
