Hi,
I''m running Xen on a Debian Xeon E3110 using the Debian 2.6.26-2-xen kernel.
As filesystem for my lvm domU partitions I choosed xfs.
I get the following error in kern.log of domU when booting a domU:
blkfront: sda2: write barrier op failed

Usbhip-ups going wild
Hello,
I am facing some serious issues on customer's site.
I looked around on the web and in the archives but didn't find anything. I
hope you can help me.
Here is my configuration :
OS :RHES 4.7
NUT : 2.2.0
NUT-CLIENT : 2.2.0
Hardware : IBM x3250M2 (dual-core intel E3110)
Here are the symptoms :
After some time, the performance of my applications on this server began to
drop with functional perturbation, so I took a look at the system and found
that upshid-nut is taking around 15 to 20% of cpu time.
Uptime is 20 days. And total cpu time used by usbhid-ups is 396 m...

Thanks for the feedback. I' was assuming that some kind of Spectre/Meltdown fixes are causing this.

Panic / EL6 / KVM / kernel-2.6.32-754.2.1.el6.x86_64
Since the update from kernel-2.6.32-754.2.1.el6.x86_64
to kernel-2.6.32-754.3.5.el6.x86_64 I can not boot my
KVM guests anymore!? The workstation panics immediately!
I would not have expected this behavior now (last phase of OS).
It was very robust until now (Optiplex Workstation). I see some KVM
related lines in the changelog.diff. Before swimming upstream:
Does some one have problems

Yes, the exact same thing happened here, and I suspect it is related to older cpus that don't get any Spectre/Meltdown updates.

This is a dual-core cpu of similar vintage to yours (can we have a model #?), pre-2010.
There goes a cheap and reliable VM dev machine :-/

Doesn downgrading qemu as I proposed in the other mail fix it in your case?
I'm interested because in my case I'm having the issue on two older AMD
CPUs, not Intel.
