ndmp?
When I search around, I see that nexenta has ndmp, and solaris 10 does not,
and there was at least some talk about supporting ndmp in opensolaris ...
So ...
Is ndmp present in solaris 11 express? Is it an installable 3rd party
package? How would you go about supporting ndmp if you wanted to?

places, to no avail.

Does raidzN actually protect against bitrot? If yes - how?
"Does raidzN actually protect against bitrot?"
That''s a kind of radical, possibly offensive, question formula
that I have lately.
Reading up on theory of RAID5, I grasped the idea of the write
hole (where one of the sectors of the stripe, such as the parity
data, doesn''t get written - leading to invalid data upon read).
In general, I think the same applies to bitrot of

Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris - groups for user inconsistent
Hi all,
I'm having an issue with Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris using Active Directory
with a Windows Server 2008 domain controller. I should state early on
that I do not believe this is a manifestation of the Solaris 16 group
limit - the number of groups is well below 16.
Winbind seems to be working fine - I can use wbinfo -r to check the
groups that a user is a member of, it returns the list of
