Audio goes one way during the call for a few seconds. Is it RTP, NAT, dyndns, or what it is?
Hi everybody,
I finally want to get rid of 1-way audio problem. Please help me here.
I have 3 scenarios.
1. Audio is always one way. Caller who dialed can't listen the called party
but called party can listen him. In this scenatio Asterisk is on dynamic IP
with dyndns FQDN. sip.conf has externip = abc.dyndns.org and localnet =
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx entry. Trunk and extensions are SIP. Where is the voice
getting lost from the called party? NAT is there but Asterisk is in DMZ.
2. Conversation is going fine when all of a sudden you realize that other
parth has started...

DDNS with bind9 and isc-dhcp-server
Hello List, Hello Rowland :-)
again I'm having problems with the DDNS. I did it as shown in the wiki.
I took all teh scripts from the wiki the dhcp-dyndns.sh is Version: 0.8.9
I configured everything including the failover. When I start the two
DHCP-Server everything is perfect. I see the right messages in the log,
the two DHCP-Servers are talking to each other. When a Client ask for an
IP-adresse he get's one. BUT the DNS-Update is not working....

dhcp lease time hardware in script at dhcpd/Bind/Samba wiki page
There seems to be a slight issue with the instructions at the following
wiki page:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9
The /usr/local/bin/dhcp-dyndns.sh script seems to use a hardwired value
for the lease expiry time of 3600 - independent of whatever is
configured in dhcpd.conf. With the examples provided, it should work, as
the example dhcpd.conf uses 1800 for lease expiry time - so dhcpd will
try to renew the lease before it actually expi...

Death of dyndns
I'm running two servers, one with a fixed IP address
and the other with a dynamic address.
This is probably a very ignorant question,
but what does dyndns do that I could not do myself?

DDNS and host: updating when destination IP changes
Hi All;
I am using IAX Trunk and I used ddns (dyndns.org) with
the host (host=xyz.dyndns.org), when I restart the
router who has the hostname xyz.dyndns.org then its IP
address change and updated, but at asterisk level
still it keeps sending for the old IP address and
sometimes this problem does not resolve until I
restart asterisk.

Also don't forget the permissions on /var/lib/samba/private
If you're using sernet's packages, you'll have to chgrp it to to named or give
it o+x perms.

DynDNs.org compatible server scripts
Greetings,
I know this mail is slightly OT. But my DNS server and and all other compute
nodes (currently around 80) run Centos.
Has anybody come across some package script which can be used to listen to
request from DynDNS.org clients which can be found commonly in the devices?
I have a scenario wherein many devices having Dynamic IP scattered across a
geographical region. most have an embedded Dyndns.com client which can be
enabled.
I configure a Private Dynamic DNS server at a central location.
Now I need somet...

often sit without email until I go there to manually download the mail

I have tried changing the MX record to point to their DynDNS address,
and it works well, but then they get a lot of spam. And the cost of a
server-side spam solution is just too expensive, and they also pay for
the bandwidth uses when spam comes in. So, I moved their MX record
back to the Linux server. But now I sit with the problem of the POP3
