Reading characters using read.table()
Hello, I need to read a vector containing names of different variables from a text file (a unique column). Among them one is called "T". When I use the function read.table with default arguments and when I call the element of the data frame corresponding to name of this variable it returns me the logical value "TRUE" whereas I was expected it to return the character

writing a table in the device (pdf in this case)
hello all, I would like to introduce a summary table into the pdf along with the plots (in order to archive my data into single files automatically). Similarly, It would be great to have the result of the statistical analysis (for instance anova) in the same file. Is there a way to do that? example: pdf("example.pdf") layout (matrix(1:2,1,2)) plot (groups, scores) Result <-

Building a function
Hello, Is it possible to build a function, a posteriori, by getting the names of the arguments and the formula in a list or a vector ? When I use the function as.function(), I don't know how to define explicitly the names of my variables as formal arguments. Thanks _______________________________________ Florent BATY CNRS UMR 5558 Dynamique des Populations Bact?riennes Facult? de

Samba4 With extern LDAP
Hi all, I want implement a samba4 AD DC with radius server, but i read we cant add schema for the interne LDAP server, so I want to link my Samba4 (DC) with my actually externe LDAP Server. Is it possible? I read it's not recommended but it's the only one solution no ? (I want radius attribute on LDAP for made Dynamique VLAN) Regards, Thomas

spatial evolution and variance after rotation of Principal components
Dear R users, I have been doing rotation on Principal components analyse, with varimax function and promax. Following those changes, I cannot find now how to get the spatial evolution and the variance. Indeed, with the function princomp that has been used to get the principal components, arguments such as $scores and $sdev were available to get the spatial evolution and the variance, with

temporal evolution and variance after rotation of eof
Dear R users, I have been doing some eof analysis using princomp function, then the eof results were rotated with varimax and promax functions. Those functions are working fine. However, after their uses, I cannot find how to obtain the temporal evolution and the variance of the obtain components, as varimax and promax does not have the arguments $scores and $sdev. If any body, know how to

Automount Windows home directory
Hi, Is there a way to connect to the Windows user home directory share from a Samba client automatically? At the moment I can manually connect to the share using "mount -t smb" using the usual hidden/protected credentials file. Obviously this needs editing every time my domain password changes (as enforced by policy). However, since getting the workstation to authenticate me from the

stats::line() does not produce correct Tukey line when n mod 6 is 2 or 3
A usually trustworthy R correspondent posted a pure R implementation on SO at some point in his lost youth: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3224731/john-tukey-median-median-or-resistant-line-statistical-test-for-r-and-line This one does indeed generate the line of identity for the (1:9, 1:9) case, so I do suspect that we have a genuine scr*wup in line(). Notice, incidentally, that >

stats::line() does not produce correct Tukey line when n mod 6 is 2 or 3
The problem or actual R implementation relies on an assumption that median(x[i] | x[i] <= quantile(x, 1/3)) == quantile(x, 1/6) which reveals not to be true despite very trustful appearance. If we continue with the example of x=y=1:9 then quantile(x, 1/6)=2.5 (here quantile() is taken in C-code sens, not R's one) while median(y[i] | x[i] <= quantile(x, 1/3))=2 On the other sample's

[New Patch] Fix disk corruption when writing
I tried the newest patch, but it does not seem to work for me (on Linux). Despite the check in Rconn_printf, the write.csv happily writes to /dev/full and does not report an error. When I added a printf("%d\n", res); to the Rconn_printf() definition, I see only positive values returned by the vfprintf call. Cheers, j. On 4 July 2017 at 21:37, Duncan Murdoch <murdoch.duncan at

building a many-to-many structure in javascript
hi, for some purpose, I need a "in-javascript database", maybe built with some Prototype $H function calls for creating "tables" but what about junction tables, I mean those which express many-to- many relations between two entity tables ? I though using concatenation of strings with a separator, for example "key1 key2" "1234-56" or "ABC \n 789"

I propose the following patch against the current R-devel/src/main/connection.c (cf. attached file). It gives (on my linux box): > fc=file("/dev/full", "w") > write.csv("a", file=fc) Error in writeLines(paste(col.names, collapse = sep), file, sep = eol) : system call failure on writing > close(fc) Serguei.
