LinkingTo and C++
...1AD1Ev Calls: :: ... tryCatch -> tryCatchList -> tryCatchOne -> <Anonymous> If I then add a Makevars in B with this : # find the root directory where A is installed ADIR=$(shell $(R_HOME)/bin/Rscript -e "cat(system.file(package='A'))" ) PKG_LIBS= $(ADIR)/libs/A$(DYLIB_EXT) Then it works: $ Rscript -e "B::g()" [1] "hello" So it appears that adding the -I flag, which is what LinkingTo does is not enough when the package "linking from" (B) actually has to link to the "linked to" package (A). I've been looking at http:...

problem building R 2.9.1 from source on RHEL 4 (x86_64)
I am building from source on RHEL 4 and have run into a problem while running "make check": running code in 'lapack.R' ...make[3]: *** [lapack.Rout] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/opt/R/R-2.9.1/tests' make[2]: *** [test-Specific] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/opt/R/R-2.9.1/tests' make[1]: *** [test-all-basics] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving

pl/R and MacOS X using R binary
I'm sorry if this is too off-topic--feel free to ignore. I am interested in using pl/R, an amazing "plugin" for the postgresql database. As is typical of these types of applications, pl/R needs to link against a shared library. However, it appears that the MacOS R binary does not build a static (.so) shared library. Is there an accepted, general way (read, a way that works)

Installing DLL elsewhere than in \libs?
Hello, Its a couple of days I am fighting with this problem, and cannot find a solution. I need to compile a DLL that is not directly used by R, but must be installed elsewhere (it is indeed part of a Tcl/Tk package). So, I want to install it in /tklibs/tkpackage/alib.dll (under Windows) in my compiled package. I do manage to compile it in /src, but cannot copy it at the right place. I

Compiling a Tcl extension for an R package
Dear R developers, I plan to upload a first version of my R package RnavGraph to the R CRAN server in a week or two. However I'm still struggling with an image resizing function written in C as a tcl extension. I did all my development in Ubuntu, and everything works fine in Ubuntu, however my attempts to compile this C function under Windows or OSX have all failed. I provide a minimal self

How to change Rlapack by lapack (for rpy2 installation)?
(I asked an earlier question on the rpy2 installation to the rpy2 list, the solution there was to edit the setup.py script, but this looks beyond what I can do unless someone tells me exactly what to modify). I have R 2.8.1 on 2 machines running ubuntu 8.04 (packages R-base and R-base-dev, among others, installed using Synaptic) and while the installation of rpy2 went fine on machine1, failed on
